(Your Perspective)

The door bust open interrupting my focus on my pile of paperwork. I looked up and angrily dropped my pen. Only for Hanji to rush over to me.

"What do you want this time Hanji? This is the millionth time you broke down my door today!"

"Well it just hit me that I forgot to ask you to join me tonight."

"Join you?"

"Yeah, to the scout enlistment thing tonight."

I gave Hanji a puzzled look. What in the world could they be talking about? Scout enlistment... thing? Hanji moved closer pressing their hands onto my desk. I rolled my eyes and sighed trying to think.

"What are you talking about?", I say.

Upset, Hanji leaned closer causing me to fall back into my chair.

"The thing where they introduce new scouts. I have to go and explain what I do in the scouts to show there's more to killing titans. Man, I know we've been out of our juniors years of being a scout, but your memory is horrible."

Then it finally clicked in my mind. Memories of that day when I had to choose the scouts. That was a rough day. It felt awkward standing there. Everyone judging you or just knowing that I could die in my few days of being a scout. It was a horrible ceremony.

"Oh yeah." I say spinning my chair to face the window behind me.

I felt Hanji place their hand on my chair and with a cheerful tone I heard them say," So you'll go with me?"

"No." I say without hesitating.

"Why?" Hanji whined. " Levi, Mike, and Moblit didn't want to go. Please I need someone, I'm going to be so bored!" Hanji said shaking my chair.

I spin around and stand up, slightly scaring Hanji. "I don't want to go. Don't you see this stack of papers I have to complete. I have to write up my reports on the most recent scout expeditions. Then I have to write letters of grievances to the families of the deceased. I have a lot to do." I felt stressed and look up at Hanji waiting for a response. "Just one night that's all I ask. I'll even help you with the work tomorrow when we get done." Hanji pleaded.

I let out a sigh and ran my hand on the back of my neck. "Fine."

"Yes!" Hanji says jumping up into the air. "I'll come get you around sunset and we'll walk over to the ceremony."

"Okay, I'm guessing wear the scout uniform?"

"Yeah that'll be fine. I'll see you then and I promise no more interruptions." Hanji said speeding out of the room. I heavily sighed and plopped myself back into my chair. "Oh boy." I let out while rubbing the bridge of my nose.
