Fresh Set Of Eyes

             ✨ Tory's POV✨

                While we're driving on this un- normally busy road, I look out the window and the thought came to me, I don't normally look out the window this much only when I'm sad or frustrated I've never found the outside so fascinating I annoyingly say to myself. What you say, sunshine says David who happens to be my dad, in the front seat happier than ever. Nothing I sigh.
       
              You may wonder why I call him David well he's never really been a father figure I lived with him in Galsboro for over the past 17 years but for my 18th birthday I asked to live with my mom in Maybel instead. Me and my mom get along so well it's hardly the only time I smile or laugh without forcing it. I've never really seen eye to eye with David or his side of the family they always thought so negative that I just decided not to acknowledge it anymore.

              As we arrive at my mom's driveway which seems to be a big mall parking lot, I happily hop out the back with the little bit of bags I had and shut the car door. I walked up and rang the doorbell, the one that sounds like you have birds at your door with your mail. My beautiful mom who is reaching 34 looks nothing older than 23 greets me with a big hug and kisses as always. I'll never get tired of smelling her vanilla and hibiscus fragrance, I say in my head. She waves to David and we go inside i see her maid who's been here since I was born, she calmly yells while standing on one step, I made your favorite dear! Thank you miss Angeline! I say as I find myself already cutting into it while the berries start oozing out the sides.

             I go upstairs and settle in while my mother who owns her own business is getting prepared to leave on a business trip for 7 months. I Hate to leave you so soon dear, she says. It's ok ma I know we'll spend some time together once you get back, I'll be fine miss Angeline will take good care of me I say as she kisses me.
Later on, that night I got up to use the restroom and for some odd reason I put on my house shoes but as I try to return to my room upstairs, I see something moving in the snowy woods in the back something moving rapidly like never before, all I can see from this far in the snowy woods are bright blue diamond like circles. I go outside and try to get closer, but it runs. I go back in and sit and think for a second, they look like eyes, but I doze back off in deep sleep anyways.

                  As the next day approaches so slow it comes by fast, miss Angeline knocks on my bedroom door. TORY! TIME FOR SCHOOL HUN! "I'm up miss Angeline; you can come in!" I say so loud I'm sure the birds heard me. "A lot of energy for 5:45 huh?" she speaks. I chuckle. "Sorry just finally happy to be where I belong." She looks at me smiling, "ya know I made breakfast for ya so hurry and get your butt in the shower to eat." she says with her country accent it only comes out during certain moments but boy when it does, it makes my day. After showering with my mom's lavender 3 in 1 soap. I put on some ripped jeans and my best friend's sweatshirt, with some dirty converse. As I think in my head, I miss her. She was my whole world the only person who kept me sane while I wasn't with my mom. It shouldn't be that hard I think.... but shit I couldn't even keep myself together while I was here for the summer without seeing her, it'll get better besides we can still facetime.... hopefully she still has time for me. I head downstairs to eat; I smell her old-fashioned gravy and grits with bacon just how I like it and a fresh cup of orange juice. I rush to eat because its already 6:50. 

The bus pulls up around 7:15 I step on the bus as the doors hug closed behind me. I see my friends who I only see normally during the summer. "OMG GUYS ITS TORY!" says Val, short for Valary. "YOU DIDNT TELL ME YOU WERE COMING ESPECIALLY ONLY IN AUGUST!" I know I'm staying this time though guys, like I'm never going back, this is where I belong, I say as I sit with my other friend Liv. As me and all my friends walk inside school everyone goes their separate ways except for Val. "Need me to walk with you?". No, I'll be fine I promise but thanks, I'll see you during lunch, right? "OF COURSE!" she yells while midway down the hall. As I turn around in search for classroom G391, I bump into something almost as hard as a brick wall, as I gain my thoughts and I'm steady enough I stand up to grab my things, I see someone stick their hand down to help me, I hold their hand as I get up, I dust myself off then look up to see a tall caramel toned body builder like boy with his head tilted down to where I can't see nothing but his perfect curly hair and jawline and his thin cherry like lips. "Like what you see their Princess?" I blush. Boy Bye I say. He chuckles. "You should watch where you're going their next time" he says as he helps me pick up my things. We stand up and we lock eyes......his eyes...... their beautiful ......their also bright blue...and kind of diamond like.... Have I seen these somewhere I ask myself?
