Chapter 16: No Support

Max's POV:
I got a call from a nurse at the place Nathan was getting his throat surgery done at telling me that Nathan said to call me. She told me "the guy" Did not show up. I thanked her & hung up.

I couldn't believe Harry didn't show up to support him. I wanted to go with Nathan but Mr. Killjoy Kine said there wasn't another plane ticket for me when he picked Nathan up from our hotel the day before his birthday.

I started packing my bag first before I told the others what happen. If the trip was cut short for Nathan. The trip would be cut short for us too.

*In Los Angeles, California*

Kev was driving Tom, Siva, Jay & I to the throat surgery place. I talked to the nurse from earlier who told me that Nathan had woken up. The surgery was done & his family & the strange man were there with him.

Mr. Kine the cause of this whole thing. My focus of anger wasn't on him today. My sole attention of anger was directed to Harry Styles.

I didn't know where he was, but he was supposed to be with Nathan. He was supposed to support him & telling him he'd be fine. Tell Nathan he'll get through this & that he'll be there with his every step of the way on getting his voice back. I was sure Nathan woyld get his voice back. No need to look at the negatively.

"Hey guys." Jay piped up from his place next to a sleepy Siva.

Siva lifted his head & looked at Jay. Tom & I looked at him too while he looked down at his phone.

"What Bird?" I asked him.

Jay held out his phone to Siva first, then Tom, then me. The picture was of Harry & Louis onstage holding hands. The caption of the photo was "Can't hide us anymore." #Larry

"What about Nathan?" Siva asked us.

"Weren't Nathan & Harry really dating at the end?" Jay asked aloud.

So this is where Harry Styles was.

When we got there we saw Mr. Kine, Nathan's family & Scooter. Mr. Kine noticed us & a smile played at his lips. We all stared at him confused.

"Hello bandmates of Nathan." Mr. Kine greeted us.

"Hi?" Siva asked him.

"As you can see Harry Styles isn't here. Instead he's with his band." Mr. Kine told us.

"Isn't he supposed to be here?" Jay asked him.

Mr. Kine frowned sighing loudly. Could we go see Nathan? I didn't want to stand around talking to this guy.

"Could we go see Nathan now? I didn't come here for you." I said looking around for any nurse to direct me to Nathan's room.

"I'd like to talk to you all after you see him." Mr. Kine told us. He waved his hands & a nurse came forth.

We all hugged Nathan when we saw him awake on his bed. He was loopy & hilarious. While the other boys entertained him I snuck into his bag below the bed.
