~Alora~
It's pitch black over here, my vision seems blurry. Suddenly, the walls of my ears are filled with galling sound of siren. I hysterically wiped my eyes only to witness the stark white and blue lights blinding my vision yet again. I narrowed my eyelids into slits to get a clear view but it didn't help.
The sound seemed to get even louder and closer making me anxious, my heart raced miles making me breathless. My whole body went numb, hands and feet cold. I wanted to scream but my lips were sealed not even a squeak.
I wanted to scream for help but couldn't. I thrashed my limbs wildly, hot tears rolled out of my orbs but I couldn't speak not even a word.
I could feel the anxiousness reaching its peak with my heart palpitating at an unusual speed as if it will burst out of my chest any moment. I tried to suck in as much air as possible but my body seemed constricted.
I can't bloody breathe!
I jerked up opening my eyes, sweating profusely. Beads of sweat trickling down my forehead with mouth agape gasping for air. My whole body shivered as I frantically looked around and found myself in my room.
It was a nightmare. Again!
I sighed. Resting my back against the board of the bed I calmed myself. I could see sunlight glimmering on the floor piercing through the white colored curtain of the French window. Walls colored with shades of blue and brown colored polished modern style furniture. The full length mirror beside my vanity and the place where I mostly spend the rest of my day.....my study table with a large bookshelf right beside it.
Trrriiinngg... Meow meow wake up my muse!
There goes my already ruined morning to its doom! I will seriously die one day because of this cat shaped alarm clock.
"Jesus! My head will burst open due to your infuriating song." I switched it off extending my arm as I sucked my head down with all my hair falling forward as I groaned.
"Wait!" I jerked up again.
"It's Monday" I whispered unwillingly staring at the clock.
"AND I AM LATE! IT'S 6:30 AM ALREADY! I screamed before pushing the duvet away and sprinting toward the bathroom to take the quickest shower of my life which I unfortunately do on every Monday.
The reason is because the day before that is my Sundays are reserved for a specific task.
Something I can't let go!
Walking out as I was drying my hair with the towel wearing my bathrobe. My eyes scanned the wardrobe.
Hardest part of the day!
Deciding what to wear for school.
I prefer wearing whatever I see at the top of the pile of unending clothes in my closet.
Thanks to Mom!
And today I am going to do the same thing. Throwing on cargo pants which can be worn two to three times more before washing I paired them with a blue t-shirt and black sweatshirt. I stood in front of the vanity drying my shoulder length blond hair with hairdryer because I am late and towel isn't helping. Donning a high ponytail I was all set to leave.
I wish I could get myself all dolled up like all those other girls who groom themselves.
I sighed. But hey! Getting up early and having a bath is more than enough for me doing all that isn't my cup of tea.
Hats off to those girls!
Glancing at the watch again I wanted to bang my head against the wall.
It's 6:50 AM and I am moping over here.
I chided myself and hurriedly kept all the books required for today's classes.
"Can't forget you! Otherwise Mrs. Olsen will turn into Hitler." I spoke to no one in particular keeping the history book inside and finally zipped up the bag tossing the packet of peanuts in it.
I bolted for the door picking up my white Beats brand headset and Bora Purple Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 smartphone. Can't forget them!
Rushing downstairs, I heard my mom yelling.
"You ain't going to school young lady. Have breakfast first!" Ignoring her stern tone I wished her morning and asked for Dad.
"He is in the garden. You sit and have this oatmeal first." She spoke yet again and all I did was whine in return.
"My sweet mom! You know I am late. The clock's already gonna strike seven and I can't afford that." I tried to reason with her but who am I kidding.
"No! Enough of this. Why do you always get up early in the morning and behave like a monkey jumping from one place to another yelling you are late especially on Mondays. For God's sake, the school starts one and a half hours from now. It only takes ten minutes from our home to reach there." She exasperated reaching the end of her scolding as always while I was busy in tying my sneakers paying no heed........as always.
"Ugh! Who am I even asking? Here, take this." I looked up as she forwarded a mint colored lunch box.
"It has your favourite french toast." a smile immediately reached the curve of my lips as I kissed her cheek and shouted a bye to Dad as well if he hears it.
Exiting our home, as my mom waved at me from the door I brought out my flat bar road bike with gears and an attachable white headlight from our garage and raced it on the asphalt.
In record time of six minutes I literally crashed with the tall light pole near our school as I kept my legs on either side of the bicycle and stared at the huge letters engraved on the black and grey coloured stone wall, they had a tinge of silver in them making it shine brightly as the sunlight fell over it.
