Ever happened that despite doing everything according to your parents, it's still not enough for them?
Happens with me everyday. Being the daughter of a business mastermind Rohan Roy and the creativity overflowing mind of Avantika Roy, I'm always expected to be the best of both of them combined.
And I am, till a certain extent. All A+ grades, a prominent player in college basketball team and athletics, teacher's first choice in drama and dance programmes and the most humble person.
But little does everybody know how I manage all of this without breaking down. All of them at the campus only see the shiny side of my life, moderately rich parents, pretty face and good grades. But nobody ever tried to uncover the real me, how broken I was deep down.
I hoped to find such a person soon and I knew I would.
It was the beginning of college after summer break. I had joined this year and within weeks I was the talk of the campus. My face was one reason but another were my outfits. My parents had their roots leading to India and so did I. I was born there, had my memories of early life over there.
I took a bath and packed my lunch. I had worn a royal blue coloured kurta with minimal makeup and kept my hair open.
"Bye Maa." I spoke in the hall and heard her approaching downstairs.
I didn't expect anything from my dad. Often he didn't even bother coming home. Neither did my mom but atleast she informs me every time she's out. And I know she cares for me.
