"I think you should calm down,"Jean said softly as she reached a hand out to her husband. "Don't tell me to calm down!" He yelled back as he snatched his arm away. "You listen to me! Not the other way around!" A loud slap was heard as his palm made contact with the side of her face. Jean gasped and held her cheek, trying not to let the tears drop. "I am the man here! You will obey me!" And with that the front door slammed shut. Jean dropped to her knees and shakily let out breaths, trying to not cry from the burning in her cheek, but also from how angry she was. Angry at her parents for doing this to her. Angry at her husband for treating her like that. But most of all, angry at herself for not standing up to any of them. Instead of standing up for herself that day she just sat there, agreeing with whatever her parents said.
"This man is your fiancé, you two will be wed next month." Jean stared at her father in shock. Fiancé? Wed? What were they talking about? "What?" She managed to say in an almost whisper. "What your father means is that we have arranged this marriage for you and you shall be great full we did so. God knows when you would've found a man on your own," her mother said plainly. Jean gulped and looked at the man in the seat beside her. He was tall, had dark brown eyes, black slicked back hair and a shit-eating grin on his face. "Well then Jean, get moving, we haven't got all the time in the world. You better go find yourself a dress," her mother said simply again and ushered her out the room.
Oh how much Jean regretted not saying anything. If she could go back in time and change it all she would have. She sobbed as she thought about it all, about the abuse she had to deal with from her husband. Her parents were no help in this. They simply refused to believe her when she told them about it all, claiming he was such a nice man and she should stop complaining. She wipped at her face as her phone screen lit up, a message popping up on it.

Hey~ mind if I bring razor along with us? Boyfriend ditched babysitting duty for some random thing with the guys again 🙄
Jean smiled at the thought of getting to see her best friends son again. Razor was such a sweet boy, she loved him dearly. Many people got the wrong idea of his just because he's autistic and non verbal, but that never stopped Jean from getting to know the boy. She had been there since Lisa had announced her pregnancy with her boyfriend and had seen him grow up. She had been there to help Lisa in anyways she needed whenever she needed. The brunettes boyfriend was never any help. He was constantly 'at work' or ditch the two for 'the boys' as he liked to call them. Jean never understood why Lisa was still with him, if it were her, and she could, she would have left by now.

Okay cool! I'll see ya soon! Love ya x
Jean sighed. Avoiding the question again. She always did that when the topic was brought up. Jean typed one last message before getting up from the floor and wiping her face one last time before going to get ready to meet up with Lisa.
