With his hoodie pulled over his head and a bandana secured around his forehead, Robin observed the TVs that were playing in the shop window, ranging from small to large, the muffled voices emanating from them, against the backdrop of the inky night sky.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
He quickened his pace before gracefully hopping onto the curb, the green canopy protecting him from the torrential rain that had drenched him until now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
After taking off the hood from his head and pushing all the people that also hid from the bad weather, Robin managed, even if sandwiched, to take a good look at the news: New York was saved once again by Spider-man was written on the blue stripe as the woman spoke with a microphone on her lips, still heard in a fumbled way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀He took a step further, in attempt to catch the thread of speech.
He succeeded: "—was saved by the superhero in a black suit and a red spider shape on his chest, gifted with what seems to be superpowers. He was described as young, judging from the sweet and kind voice..."
⠀⠀⠀⠀Robin's head followed the voice, like someone had his chin and was dragging him forward. "Where did he even come from?" a boy had asked behind him, younger than Robin of two or three years.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
"I don't know. But I'd kill to know who hides under that mask."
⠀⠀⠀⠀Robin signed in annoyance, the nuisance given from the all the people testing his patience. He tried to keep his mind focused on the TV, and the loud rain wasn't helping at all. "New York City has been abused by thieves, robbers, and sometimes murderers in the last few weeks."
⠀⠀⠀⠀And then right after a footage of the superhero was showed. The video would sometimes get blurry, mostly in the start, where the camera attempted to take a closer look and zoom in, but the hero had already disappeared behind the shining skyscraper with the damsel in distress on his arm, the other one used to create white strings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
That was it.That was the view he had witnessed earlier that day, in that bright afternoon when he stepped outside his apartment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"But this isn't the first time it happens. Many superheroes had taken over places in order to protect them as soon as fear and chaos reached out."
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Robin took a quick look at the time on the bottom of the screen: 11:12 pm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Could Spider-man be connected, somehow, to the Flash in Colorado, to the Black Panther in Chicago or to the mysterious Batman in San Francisco?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
The television grew more silent as he leapt from the sidewalk after placing the hood back on his head, making his way back towards his apartment.⠀⠀⠀⠀
