Blades slash open a titan's neck, Levi swings from one to the other, slashing each one down. He could hear Erwins voice in his head saying, "the more we take out, the more lives will be sparred". Levi then jumped awake; his cat had jumped on him. Waking him from his dreams of the past. His friends, he missed them every day.
Levi then got up from bed, got dressed, and made himself some tea. He stared out the window, watching soldiers and civilians pass by. He then heard a knock at his door. "Probably those damn brats again, why can't they give me a moment of peace".
Levi answered the door, swiftly swinging it open. "Look you brats..." he trailed off, when he realized it wasn't the familiar faces he knew. It was a woman. She had long brown hair, it shined in the light coming from Levi's window across the room. She had the deepest blue eyes Levi had ever seen, almost as blue as the ocean. Levi had never seen her before, but he thought she was beautiful non the less.
When Levi begins to speak, the women just stared at him, "can she not hear me?" he thought. "Hey, can you hear me? Oi!"
The women looked at Levi confused. The women then begin to make hand signs at Levi, "yeah, she's deaf, shit." "What am I going to do with her? I don't even know what she wants." Levi thought.
Just then, Levi sees Mikasa and Armin walking down the hall towards Levis room. "Oi! you two, get over here!" Mikasa and Armin quickly come to Levis' doorway.
"Yes Captain?" said Armin, who had grown much taller than Levi over the years.
"Get this girl out of here" Levi says as he looks at the girl in his doorway.
Mikasa then states, "She's deaf captain, she is one of the new cadets starting here today, she must have just got lost".
Levi then gives Mikasa a dull look. "Tch, I know she's deaf, I figured that part out already".
Armin takes the girl's hand and motions for her to follow him. The girl follows Armin and Levi just watches as they walk away. "Tch, brats" he thought.
Levi then goes back to finish drinking his tea and finishes some paperwork on his desk. He couldn't get the image of the deaf girl out of his mind for some reason. "Come on Levi" he thought, "no distractions".
After Levi finished his tea and paperwork, he went downstairs to the main hallway. He found himself staring off into space thinking about the girl, yet again. "Why was she on his mind" he thought.
Just then, Commander Ethan saw Levi and walked over to talk to him
"Hey Levi!" he shouted. Levi stood there, cringing at the fact that he had just heard his name being yelled. "What do you want commander? I'm kind of busy" said Levi, who was already annoyed.
Commander Ethan noticed Levi's cold tone but thought nothing of it. It was normal for Levi. "I have something I wanted to ask you" Levi just stood in the same spot and didn't move to even look at commander Ethan. "I wanted to ask, if you wanted to take over as commander?"
Levi was stunned at that question, "could I really make a good commander?" He thought.
Levi then spoke, "sorry, I'm just not the right fit to be a commander" then Levi walked away and continued walking down the hall. Commander Ethan just stood and watched him leave.
Later that day, Levi found himself at Erwin and Hanji's memorial sight. "I'm sorry Erwin, I couldn't take your spot as commander, I'm just not like you" Levi said as he thought about all three of them together again. He then looks towards Hanji's side of the memorial.
