In this universe, humanity has made it illegal to upload your consciousness to any computers or clones, or anything, really.

A crackpot scientist has come to the conclusion that the uploaded consciousness is not the original.

He came to this conclusion based on the old teleporting theory, that if a person is destroyed and reassembled, it is not the original person but a copy and the same thing goes for your consciousness.

But I say to you that if somebody takes a gun and shoot somebody then takes the gun apart and then takes the pieces to another room and puts it back together is it the same gun.

My answer is yes if it's your original memories, your thoughts and feelings, then it is your consciousness it doesn't matter if it was broken apart for a few minutes, then reassemble in the same way.

But regardless of reason people whether it be religious or a fear of change has agreed, and through force made it illegal but there was a rumor that a group of people that uploaded their consciousness and live somewhere in the galaxy.

Underground lab

This is where you worked for many years you work here down under the city you were in charge of repairing broken worker drones.

you work down here for one pacific reason.

You weren't a genius, well natural born one you uploaded engineering knowledge and other branches of science branches thanks to today's technology.

But there was some information that was considered illegal not ethical for people to know. The knowledge to upload.

But down here, where no one else is watching, you can do whatever you want and get away with it like ordering replacement drone parts through the years that were not needed. Enough to construct your own record drone body.

Then all it took, was to rework some of your existing equipment, and then Wala new body!

Why were you doing this radiation? You were exposed to a lethal dose as a kid. Thanks to a. Eco, terrorist attack by some group called not our planet also known as N.O.P.

They believe that humanity shouldn't terraform or live on other planets something about preserving the sentencing of otherworldly nature at any cost. Well, anyways, they're dead new planet, and new laws the corporation that owned that planet wanted to make an example of them.

To be fair, they did kill like 70 people at a power plant with a chemical leak and irradiated a bunch of kids on a field trip in the process.

Tragically you are the last survivor. Most died in the first week while others took a few years but you got to live to a whopping age of 24 before you uploaded.

Anyways, the plan was that you would upload your consciousness into the drone body then scrap any trace of evidence, then your parents would stop by and pick you up and claim that you are their servant drone and after a couple days report your empty headed body that would naturally be dead.

That was the plan anyway after you uploaded an explosion occurred vaporizing all organic tissue, leaving nothing but skeletons.

You found your parents car outside your workplace, two skeletons sitting in the passenger and driver seat. Then you looked over and saw a couple of drones pushing skeletons over and high-fiving.

From that day on, you have a mistrusted of the worker drones, and kept your distance, secluding yourself in your lab while trying to figure out who was directly responsible.

But after a few months, murder drones started showing up slicing and dicing, and every worker drones, they could get their hands on.

You kept a safe distance, observing through cameras, while hunkered down in your underground layer, studying them, learning their weaknesses, and learn that they have an aversion to sunlight.

So you modified your own body to fight off these murder drones, if they ever come knocking at your door.
