"Fuck."
I whispered, my breath shallow and my throat parched.I was sprinting.
"Go faster", the voice in my head kept telling me.
It was dark.
Too dark to see anything.
The moon was shining fully, but the thick lattice of leaves obscured its light.
The twigs and leaves under my feet thrashed and snapped as I ran faster and faster.
He was after me.
I was conscious of this fact.
I was running,
and he was chasing me.I reached for my phone, trying to dial a call to 911.
Hoping that I'd get any network with my luck.
I did.
However, as fate would have it, right as I reached to click the call button, my phone slipped out of my hands.
I thought of going back for it when;
I looked back.It was HIM.
The one who I was running from.
The man with an angelic face.
How could I have ever known of the malicious intentions that he had?
I turned back and kept running,
but my vision was becoming blurry, my legs had begun giving in, and the toxins I was given had started to have their effects. The last thing I remember was the feeling of my knees buckling, leaving me collapsing onto the cold, harsh ground.
~
I woke up in cold sweat.
I guess I had too much to drink last night.
Phew.
Calm down, Lexi......don't worry.You're safe.
The news was switched on on the television in front of me.
I realized that I was not at my home.
"Don't be paranoid now; you probably went with someone." I tried to calm myself.
I was now fully awake.
As I focused on the news, reality hit me.
"Last night, another one of the recent kidnappings had taken place. Ms. Alexia Lenore is this time's victim. Now, with the increased crime rate in our country, it is advised to stay-"
IT WAS NOT A DREAM.
