NIGEL's POV
————————We gathered at the moon base for our ceremony. Everyone operative was there to give us a grand goodbye.
"KIDS NEXT DOOR, RULE!" Yelled Numbuh 362. "KIDS NEXT DOOR, RULE, SIR!" The crowd replied. I'm going to miss that chant. "Today we celebrate the legacy, the triumph, the success of sector V!" Rachel said, she's trying not to get emotional. "All the older operatives know very well how amazing this team really is...and there will probably be no one else like them." She said looking back at us. "Do you guys have anything to say?" She asked. "I do." I stepped up to the front of the stage. "All I can think about today, is...my friends, my team. We've been through so much together. It was a honor to lead them into battle, it was a honor to be a part of this operation! IT WAS A HONOR TO BE A KID!!" I raised my fist.
The crowd cheered for my team and I. "WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU GUUUYS!" Someone yelled out. "THIS PLACE WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU!" "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!" The crowd kept shouting their goodbyes. Some made us emotional, others made us proud. The crowd was quieted by Numbuh 386, "it was a honor? It is a honor!" She said to me. I saluted her, but she hugged me instead. "I'm going to miss having you here Nigel." "As will I Rachel." I hugged her back. She smiled at me then spoke to my team members. "I'm going to miss you all." She took Abby's hands. "Numbuh 5 will miss you guys too." She smiled. "No one will have a brain built like yours number 2" she smiled saluting him. He saluted back. "I'm sure if they try hard enough, they'll come close." He replied.
"Number 3, your love for rainbow monkeys alone could power our whole supply!" She giggled. Kuki smiled and hugged her. "And your bravery always gave me courage!" She giggled. Rachel hugged back. "Numbuh 4, the toughest, bravest, and also sweetest operative I know!" "Hey! I'm not sweet!-" "Yes you areee~" "Kuki, please not now." He face palmed. Rachel giggled. "Like I said, the sweetest." She said placing a hand on his shoulder. "No operatives will ever compare to you all...goodbye." She said, and motioned number 86 to take us to the decommissioning room.
As we walked as a team, the crowd cheered. I was ahead, nodding and raising my fist. Hoagie was waving to the crowd, and Abby was...trying to stay strong. Kuki and Wally was towards the back, holding hands as they walked. Once we made it to the room we all had a finale conversation.
Kuki was already crying before I could get my first word out. "You all know how much I love you guys right?" "It's hard not to when everyone keeps saying the word-" Wally was cut off by Kuki's aggressive crying. Abby smiled. "It's been a pleasure, we sure have been through some thangs." Abby said, taking off her hat. "And we'll keep going through them, cause no matter what, even if we're strangers to each other after this. We walk out together as friends!...we're bond to have some small talk so it won't all be over, if anything it'll be like starting over. Hoagie said. "I guess since we're all saying mushy crud...thanks for helping me grow as a person, each and every one of ya." Wally smiled. "OOOOO WAAALLLYYYY-" Kuki yelled, practically falling on Wally crying. "Kuki get up!" He struggled.
We all laughed. "Ok guys it's time." I said. "KIDS NEXT DOOR...goodbye." I said, we all forming a group hug. Wally pulled Kuki down to his level and gave her a peck on the cheek. "Y'know for the road." He blushed, squeezing her hand. She smiled. They thought no one was looking, but I noticed. "I wish Lizzy was here." I mumbled. As we all got closer and closer to the machine, the tip of my toe touched the entrance then...
