As the two walk back to their work with linked arms and laughing to shared secrets nobody else but the moon knows, they come across a small pond.
They stare at the pond together, heads tilting in unison as visible confusion was written over both their faces.
"Is this pond man made?" Mary squats down, observing the sides of the pond.
"I don't know, but I've never seen this on my way back before."
Centy folds her arms, looking into the distance as she is yet again hit in the face with another round of mother nature's breeze.
"I think we should go back, it's getting darker and I can't feel my fingers or feet!" Centy nudges Mary on the back with her knee, causing her to almost fall into the pond.
"Okay fine, but I'm definitely coming back to check this out."
Mary groans getting up, holding herself steady as the strong wind almost knocks her down.
The pair both continue their walk, Centy stares at the only source of light in the sky. The giant, glowing orb in the far distance.
Centy had a strong love for the moon, that's how she got into space and science. She would talk to the moon like she was connected to it, as if it was her own sister or friend.
She smiles at the moon, hoping one day, it would smile back at her.The next morning, July 6th 2018.
Centy is woken up by the laughter of the birds that disrupt her morning everyday. She covers her ears with her pillow, waiting for them to stop.
Rolling over on her bed, she reaches out for her phone on the bedside table and upon opening her phone, she is met with her lock screen. A picture of the moon Centy took with her telescope a few years back.
7:28 AM, her phone read aloud.
Even though Centy wasn't an early bird, she knew this would be a great time to be productive. She strolls to the bathroom, taking a look at herself in the mirror.
"Steve is really making my eye bags worse." She whispered to herself.
Centy undresses herself, hopping into the shower as she is hit by the warm droplets of the water. She sinks into the feeling, dreaming that she could stay here forever, but with the income of her job and her water bills, she knew she couldn't.

Centy gets into a big, woolly sweater, her favourite one, and the pair of jeans she wears almost everyday. She grabs her purse on the kitchen counter and heads out the door, but she stops in her tracks before exiting.
"This is only a one time thing." She says to herself as an audible sigh escapes her mouth.
Walking through her small neighbourhood that's covered with greens, Centy notices a small flower shop.
Starry night florals
"Sounds just like my type." She grins to herself.
Entering the small, shabby building, the bell sways side to side creating a melodious sound as she steps inside. Centy is instantly hit in the face with strong, floral scents that linger in the air. As she looks around the shop, touching petals now and then, an unfamiliar voice presents itself.
"Looking for something?" A deep voice booms from another corner. Centy pokes her head to the sound source, and to her surprise she is met with an over towering presence.
"Um... just taking a look." She looks up, locking eyes with the unknown man, taking glances to the side now and then. Her neck had already started to cramp due to the height of this stranger.
"Okay well if you're not buying anything, I suggest you leave because my shop's closing in a few minutes." The man points to the sign outside.
Closes 7:45 am, opens again at 9 am
Centy stares at the wooden sign for a second before answering,
"Yeah, I was just on my way."
She clutches her bag before slowly heading out the door, taking one last glance at the shop.
