The Facility

Chapter 2

I went toward the bright, colorful, open-but-not-open outdoors. This is called a city. This said city is called Minataurn. An FGM mechanic let knowledge of it slip once. He was never heard from again after that. After that day, the human workers were visibly nervous around Watchers. Us Watchers are deemed 'highly observant' and 'killing machines'. There were many outside vehicles in the city. I have never seen it before, which is to be expected due to my lack of knowledge of the outdoors. Humans were yelling, though you would never be able to understand it. All I could hear were some saying to get out of the way.

I moved to my left, then a human tried to pull me farther to the left, only for us both to fall. He appeared hurt, and though we both got up, he continued his tasks. I saw a yellow vehicle with a sign that read 'taxi'. There was a park nearby. I knew what that was, so I went there. The park was noisy but also quiet at the same time. A human came over to me while carrying a tiny human. These are called 'babies' "Ma'am. You look lost. Do you need help with directions or anything like that?" She asked as Ellyana somehow came up behind me. "She's a little lost, but I'll get her where she needs to be!" Ellie responded confidently. "Where did you come from?" I asked, confused by her presence. "Ash and I are here to bring you back to the Facility, Seven!" "I have been removed from the system. I am no longer welcome. Also, your 'Ash' is not here." I said as I walked away from her. "Don't you want to get 8 out of there? I know you and Eight were inseparable!" She responded, trying her best to get me to go with her. "I am not allowed back!"  I said sternly, my tone making me seem annoyed at Ellie. "Seven. I heard my dad saying they'd dismember Eight because you are gone. We need to save Eight!" she exclaimed, concern prominent in her voice. "Alright." I responded, "I'm only doing this for Eight. Don't think I've gotten attached or anything like that."
