Slipping through alleyway after alleyway, Rayne navigated his way through the streets. He ran as fast as he could, zigzagging all over the place, yet the hooded men were still following him. Stopping at the junction of a main road, Rayne struggled to catch his breath. He looked left and right but he didn't recognize anything. He could barely hear anything over his heavy breathing. He was shaking and his heart pumped in an erratic pattern.
Knowing he couldn't wait any longer he sprinted in a random direction. The winding road only went on for a couple of blocks then suddenly hit a dead end.
"Aw, fuck me." He mumbled, then ran up to a door. He attempted to force it open, but it was solid wood.
Rayne's heart dropped as a man's grip wrapped around his shoulder. Immediately he went for the jaw and heard someone grunt.
"What the hell!" The man spat out a mouthful of blood. Rayne pushed him away and sprinted back down the street he came from.
It wasn't long before he ran into the second hooded man with the third in tow.
He mumbled profanities to himself while looking from the two people in front of him to the one behind him.
The 3 men around him all wore pure black cloaks with all their features hidden. The moon illuminated the hooded figures as it came out from behind the clouds, making the already scary men look much more menacing.
"It's you," The foreigner started.
"Hey! That brat attacked me!" Yelled the first man, out of breath. The foreigner only sighed. The second man seemed to signal something to the him, but only shook his head. The second man hesitated for a moment, then reached for his belt.
Rayne frantically searched for a way out. With no options left he ran towards a building and...
Jumped through the window?
The glass was thick and didn't shatter when Rayne crashed into it. Instead, he knocked it out of it's frame and they both fell to the floor. Disoriented, Rayne pushed himself to his feet and ran further into the house.
He entered a room with a family sitting on the floor. Two of the men were following close behind him. Rayne slipped and fell into a curtain he then pulled off the wall. The second man approached him. Rayne threw the curtain fabric at his face then scrambled to a set of stairs.
Sprinting up the stairs led him to a hallway he stumbled through while tipping over plants and vases. Rayne's vision was spinning. All he knew was to run. Finding himself at another window, he climbed through it and ended up falling onto a slanted roof. A roof he then almost rolled off of, but something caught him at the last moment and pulled him back to his feet.
"Will you hold still?" The foreigner scolded. "So immature! Is talking things out really that hard?" He kept mumbling to himself, meanwhile Rayne was slowly coming back to his senses.
What was going on again?
Oh right.
Rayne kneed the foreigner in the balls then jumped to the next house over, frantically running for his life.
