Tears fell fast and hard down past her cheeks, and splattered onto the cheap tile flooring. She brought her knees up onto the toilet seat, and she wiped her Bambi eyes as she heard two girls enter the restroom and begin primping themselves in the mirrors.
“She’s so fat.”
“Ugly.”
“Disgusting.”
“Lazy.”
“Idle.”
“She could never be a star.”
All she wanted was to be on stage, singing her heart out, making music for the world to hear. But instead, she was stuck here, in a small town, a solitary teenager, the girl who didn’t want to make an effort to follow her dreams.
She went down on her knees and brought the toilet seat up, sticking her fingers to the back of her throat and retched until she was empty inside, and watched her dreams swirl down the toilet.
She wasn’t a Housewife, nor a Beauty Queen, not a Homewrecker, but an Idle Teen.
