Mavs Building
Group Meeting
___________________________Everyone clapped when a woman named Katrina stepped off the podium and walked back to her seat.
Shiloh stood up and made his way to the stage, adjusting the microphone since Katrina was much shorter than him.
"Hey, for those who don't know me, I'm Shiloh. 2 weeks ago I said I fucked a demon, a lot of you thought I was joking. I honestly don't know if he was a demon, but that's what he said so I went off of that." Shia sighed, "But yesterday, I did something else."
Shia took a moment to gather his thoughts and blatant disappointment in himself, "I went on a date. After 4 years of swearing off relationships."
"And the worst part is, I wanted to go on another one with him."
yesterday,
Constanta, Romania
Teo Balcony
___________________________"You look amazing." were Dayes' first words when he saw Shiloh climb up the steps to the balcony seatings.
Shia wore cuffed light blue ripped jeans with tights underneath, a long white t-shirt with a crochet black vest on top, and black high sneakers.
The blond smiled, "Thank you. You look great," he lifted his head and looked around the restaurant, "and so does this place."
Dayes nodded, "Yeah, it's really beautiful. I would've brought my camera but I thought it might be too weird for you." he admitted, blushing.
Shiloh was looking over the railing and turned towards the taller man, "I don't mind the camera. If you'd let me draw you...?"
"Draw? Oh, yeah," Dayes smiled and scratched his nape, "I wouldn't mind. Maybe next time, we can bring our supplies and go somewhere with better lighting?"
That sounds like a second date, "Are you asking me out again, Mr. Harper?" Shiloh gave him a small smirk.
Dayes laughed softly, "I would like to. Let's see how this date goes, yeah?" he pulled out a chair from the table and offered for Shia to sit down.
The black-haired man then took his own seat and grabbed a match, striking it and then using the flame to light the candle on their table.
"Are you hungry? If not we can just talk instead." Dayes said as the aroma of the candle, honey and vanilla, joined the rest of the candles around them.
Couples seated nearby were variety of men/women, men/men, and women/women. It felt welcoming, as were most establishments in the lovely city.
Shiloh was distracted by the atmosphere, he nearly forgot Dayes asked him a question.
"Um, I already ate. We can get drinks and talk instead?" Shia suggested before pausing, "Or, well, you don't drink so maybe..."
Dayes gave a short smile, "I don't mind if you drink instead. Unless you're an alcoholic, then that's a bad idea."
Shiloh snorted, "If you ask my therapist, I use liquor to mask my trauma." his smile lingered but Shia's eyes dropped, "But no, I'm not an alcoholic."
Liar.
"Order whatever you want, it's on me. Since we're chatting, how about we ask each other some questions?" Azmodeus suggested.
Shia looked up from the drinks menu, "Like a 21 questions thing?"
Dayes grinned."Exactly like 21 questions. I'll ask first and then we'll switch and you can ask the questions." Dayes fidgeted in his seat like an excited child, "what's your favourite colour?"
Shiloh chuckled, "What are we 12?" he teased before rolling his eyes softly, "Um, white. My turn?"
Dayes nodded, "You can ask the same question or any random one."
Shiloh took a moment to think."Um, dream job? What's your dream job?" the question wasn't the one Shia wanted to ask, but starting off too strong usually got him in trouble...in all aspects of life.
"When I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut, but I think I enjoy photography much better." Dayes answered, thanking the waiter when he arrived with their drinks ordered from the tablet on the table.
Dayes took a sip of his strawberry lemonade, wincing at the sourness, "My turn again. What's your favourite movie, or show if you don't have one?"
Shia groaned, "That's such a difficult one. It's maybe, Planet Terror made in 2007."
"Wow, that's an old one. I was expecting something like Jurassic World." Dayes gave a short laugh.
Rude, "Oh yeah? Then what's yours? I bet it's something ridiculous." Shiloh retorted.
Dayes waved a hand towards Shia, "It's not. Barbie: Life in the Dream House. The best Barbie show to ever be made, I'll die on that hill."
Shia's face froze in suprise before he burst out laughing, "You're joking right? Not Barbie." he wiped tears from his eyes.
Azmodeus laughed along with him, "I'm serious, Raquelle was my icon."
Shiloh covered his mouth with his hand as he continued laughing uncontrollably, "Oh my god, there's no way you're serious."
Dayes simply smiled in response, watching Shia attempt to recollect himself and failing miserably.
"My turn again," he said once Shia had stopped laughing and was now wiping away his tears, "what's your most fun childhood memory?"
Shia sighed, throwing back his shot of tequila before answering, "When I was around 6, my mom took me to visit my grandparents on their farm. I had the time of my life for two weeks and then we went back home, I didn't know it but my grandpa was dying and they wanted me to see him one last time."
Dayes wanted to say something to comfort the blond, but throughout his entire existence, he'd never been good at consoling others.
"But it was a good memory. Uh, let's see." Shiloh took a sip of his own screwdriver, "Worst lie you've ever been told?"
The memory was easy to conjure, You're going to die alone... you've pushed everyone away, no one will be there for you.
But Dayes couldn't say that, so he said, "Someone once told me they hated my photos, so I retook them for free and found the original ones for sale online."
Shiloh winced, he understood the pain of being stolen from.
"You, same question?""Ah," Shia's answer came up almost as easily as Azmodeus', "someone told me they were sorry. Turns out they were very far from that."
The way Shiloh's face dropped and his eyes clouded before he took another shot.
To forget, Dayes realized, was why Shia drank so much. Whatever he'd gone through, it was to forget.
"My turn again, right? Do you believe in destiny-" he paused, "or no, not destiny destiny. Like meeting people destiny...like soulmates?"
A simple nod.
"I believe meeting you was destiny."
