A breakup pass through the other side of the monitor
The movie begins in the scene where you and I ended
The build-up of a farewell walking along with you
Opening sequence that rewinds back the incident
This familiar pain
I can see you in my memory
Dance with me, dance with me, dance with me
Take one more chance on me, chance on me, chance on me
I'm bleeding painfully, painfully, painfully
You in the faded film, your gaze that erased me
Stay for me, stay for me, stay for me
I can't get used to it, used to it, used to it
It repeats brutally, I can't stand it
Plopping down in the middle of his queen-sized bed, Yeonjun sighs and closes his eyes, darkness taking over his vision. Finally, he could rest after a toxic day of hearing his parents fight. That's when he hears a slight 'ping' sound from his phone, opens his eyes, and reaches over to the side of his pillow to check what it is. He swiped up to his lock screen, smiling at the memories of his 2-year-long girlfriend, then clicking on the message from her. You would think the message was to ask how he was doing or from her saying she'll come over to his place, but apparently not when Yeonjun saw the context of her text message.
Y/n <3 : I'm breaking up with you, Yeonjun... I've been cheating on you for 8 months now. I'm sorry. My conscience can't take it anymore. I don't think I'll be able to repay you the money I used, so leaving you is the best option. I hope you'll be able to forgive me. Thank you for everything.
"Wh-What the-?" He stuttered with tears clouding his eyes in disbelief. All he could see was red- the thought of someone cheating on and fooling him, making him believe love was true and everlasting sickened him. He hated himself for feeling that and for being so stupid in love.
A groan escapes his lips as tears unknowingly prick at his eyes, burying his face into his palms. Sniffling, he sobs in frustration and silently curses the world out. His intentions were pure and good- what did he do so bad that the heavens had to punish him this way? In anger, he throws his phone onto the ground, trying to scream out, yet nothing comes out of his vocal cords... He wanted to scream, he tried to shout, he wanted to cry, but nothing came out– only a few tears and a small whimper. Everything seemed to be suffocating him, and he couldn't feel anything.
Just when he is about to break down into pieces, he hears his parents fighting from the walls of his room, and he decides to place his ear against it and listen in...
"Well, what do you expect me to do??!! We have no money! I work 12 hours a day. My body can't take this anymore!" His mom sobs and pleads frustratedly at her husband, who just shakes his head. "I don't care!! I'm making more money than you are, so do the bare minimum and work!"
The sound of a harsh slap echo throughout the whole household, and without considering it, Yeonjun storms out of his room and stands in front of his helpless mother. "Hey!!" he spoke with such informality towards his father, eyes glaring daggers at him. "I'll pay for everything I used, but stop messing with my mom!!" he teared up. He knew it was all his fault, so he had to take responsibility... How, may you ask? He doesn't know. He has no absolute clue how he's gonna take "responsibility," but running away is still an option, right?
"You- You little- The nerve of you to speak to me like this! You ingrate– Whose fault was this anyway, huh?!" his father raised his voice at him, infuriated by the fact his son dared to answer him when it was his fault, to begin with.
Tears streaming down his face, Yeonjun grabs his mother's hand and nods, "I do, and I don't plan on being sorry." he speaks every word with venom. It was wrong of him to act this way, mainly because it was his fault. Maybe it was his ego getting ahead of him, afraid to admit his mistake, but he would never let his father mess with his mother. He wanted to get her out of this toxic mess, this unhealthy family.
Outside, Yeonjun's mom slaps him across the face, him looking away in slight pain, but his eyes are entirely stoical and emotionless. "You jerk!!! This is all your face!" his mother blamed him. She was right. Anybody else who was in this situation would blame one person– him.
He let go of his mom's hand, backing away. "You too...?" he sighed in disbelief, but I suppose he can't blame her. Disappointed, Yeonjun gets in his car and scoffs, "You're all the same. I thought you would actually side with me.." he laughed, vision clouding. He looks up at his mother with spite and glares up at her, "I'm leaving.." he slams the door to his car and drives away. There was nowhere to go, but what was he going to do?
He was angry. Angry with himself for being such a fool in love- for falling in love with someone who never felt the same about him. Angry that everything's a mess- and that's all because of him. He blamed himself for ruining his family- for turning everyone's backs against him- Now, he's got nothing. Absolutely nothing. So many thoughts ran through his mind but were all cut off when he accidentally ran a person on a bike over.
"Choi Beomgyu?!" he exclaims, distraught and surprised. He probably was too deep into his head that he ran someone over. Getting out of the car, he hugs the bruised and bleeding boy, sighing and closing his eyes. "I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry, are you okay?!". The boy only looks at him with a broken smile and teardrops in his eyes, looking down. "I messed up.." he whispered. "We messed up..." This was only the opening sequence to a sad, twisted love.
