"Y/N, you really don't look well...are you sure you're able to practice?"

Myeong gently placed her hand on your shoulder. You nodded.

"I'm just peachy. Low on sleep that's all."

Your body hurt, your eyes were still puffy from the tears you shed the night before, and you could barely make eye contact with anyone. You felt completely defeated, except you could never let your members know that.

The showcase was only one week away, you couldn't afford to miss practice. You knew today would be far from easy. Today you were to spend the whole day perfecting your duet with Heeseung.

You departed from your members before entering your assigned practice room. You saw that Heeseung was already there, sipping on an iced americano as he scrolled on his phone. You gulped.

You quietly walked towards him, setting your stuff down. You sat down besides him, bringing your knees to your chest.

"Heeseung could we talk-"

You cut yourself off and watched as Heeseung placed your usual iced matcha that he would bring you every morning of practice, right at your feet. You looked at him, feeling your eyes begin to water once again. He smiled at you.

"No hard feelings, okay?"

He gently patted your back, reassuring you of any worries you had.

"Come on, we've got to nail this duet. No time for awkwardness, alright?" He stood up, reaching out his hand. You sniffled, taking his hand as he pulled you to your feet.

"Alright."

If you could never hear the song 'Call Me Baby' again, you would. As you did the routine over and over again, you thought you would never be able to get the song out of your head.

"I need more passion! You two are in a steamy conversation, convince me that you are in love!" shouted the choreographer. You sighed, looking at Heeseung, who looked just as tired. The choreographer came towards you both, placing a hand on each of your shoulders.

"Look, you don't actually have to be in love, just try and make it look like it. I know it's weird and you two are just friends, but let's add some spice! Sound good?"

You clenched your fist. So much for no awkwardness.

"Fighting!" shouted Heeseung, in hopes of breaking the tension. You tried not to laugh.

"Fighting!" you repeated.

"That's more like it! Let's go from the first chorus," ordered the choreographer. You and Heeseung moved to your spots and waited for the music to play.

"5,6,7,8!"

"There are many who shine

But look at what's real among them"

You sang your line and moved to stand back to back with Heeseung. The choreography was both of you moving your hips against each other, not exactly the most comfortable thing to be doing with the guy you rejected last night.

"STOP! I have an idea."

The music paused and you immediately stepped away from Heeseung.

"Y/N, when you do that move, go in closer to him and lean your head against the back of his shoulder. And loosen up!"

You nodded. You took a deep breath and went to your starting spot once again.

"5,6,7,8!"

As the music played again, you gave in fully. When the time came to be pressed up against Heeseung, you leaned your head back then turned to give the choreographer a smirk.
