Snow flakes landed on David's rose tinted nose, he looked up. Clouds crowded the winter sky, grey and thick. A smile tugged at his lips, now this was unusual. People often say that it never has and never will snow on Christmas, it just doesn't happen. But perhaps this year the winds were playing tricks, he couldn't complain.
-David, are you coming? His sister had stopped a few feet in front of him.
He blinked a snowflake out of his eye and took a step, directly into a rather suspicious pile of snow. It was dog poop.
The pair continued down the gravel road, periodically stopping to wait for David to wipe his shoe in snow. Without dog poop this time. Brenda, his sister, was holding a clunky bag. The bag in question was filled to the brim with different sizes of presents, all carefully wrapped by their mom. Though Brenda prided herself with having written all the cards herself. David himself was only carrying a small box, wrapped in green with a yellow bow on top. David prided himself in having wrapped it all in his own. (He'd rather not have you look at the underside of it) On this gift a small card was attached through the bow, on it read, "To: Mr. magic man. -David" he would never have admitted this but David had spent at least 20 minutes debating on if should put "Love David" or "From David". (He'd gotten too nervous and forgot to choose, thus the lack of either love or from in the finished product)

Finally the two arrived at the moss green house, outside a multitude of cars stood parked. David jumped over yet another suspicious pile of snow and onto the wooden porch, he looked back to see Brenda, a big grin on her face.
-What? He questioned, what's so funny about now wanting to ruin your shoes he thought.
-Nothin'! She shrugged and took a step around the pile.
David sighed. Brenda smirked. Brenda reached for the door but David was first, he was absolutely set on knocking. Not for any particular reason, well maybe because of the dog poop.. Anyway! He knocked on the door, a smirk forming on his lips as his sister's face fell in disappointment. Almost like he could see through walls, Exer threw open the door. (If he'd been any quicker David would've gotten free hospital care and a broken hand for Christmas) David's smile widened, Exer was wearing one of those tacky Christmas sweaters.
-Hey Day! He opened the door to let them both in.
Brenda eyed the two as she passed, a slight smile on her face once again.
The hall was wet, shoes stood almost everywhere and the snow that had been attached to them has melted, forming a pool of dog poop water. Brenda frowned at it, then jumped over it. Just as as David had jumped over the pile of snow, she was younger, she couldn't help copying him, David thought.
They arrived in the living room, crowded and also, wet. A Christmas tree stood in the corner, Brenda had already dumped the bag under it. David realized that if he placed his gift there it would surely get water damage, so he kept the gift in his pocket. David scanned the room and spotted a (remotely) dry couch, he immediately took dips. Exer pulled a chair from another corner of the room and sat next to David, handing him a can of what he could only imagine to be some sort of alcohol.

Only an hour in and everyone was at least slightly drunk, not that David was saying he wasn't.
-Wait so what are we doing? Exer slurred as he hung onto David's shoulder.
-Mistletoe! Under mistletoe, you kiss! Ron concluded for what must've been the 3rd time.
-And why would we do that?
-Because, if you do you get to take a present! Brenda retorted, tired of Exer dumbness when drunk.
Exer grunted and went quiet. David felt he should be nervous, his crush was hanging into his shoulder for dear life and now they're playing a kissing game? A very heartattackie situation. But some mix of alcohol and Exer clinging onto quite literally everyone, made his heart stay steady.
He could see Ron and Brenda glancing at him, grinning like mad people. Then Ron pulled out what was actually a holly, though nobody felt like correcting him, out of his pocket. He looked around the room, he wasn't actually looking for anyone, he just wanted it to seem like he was. He then promptly stepped over to David and Exer and dangled the holly over their heads. Exer glanced up, then at David. His face suddenly turned a slight pink and he began muttering something. Now David felt his heart, it almost flew out of his chest. Partly because, "HOLY SHIT, AM I GOING TO KISS EXER CAMPBELL?!" and partly because "WHY WOULD RON DO THIS TO ME?!" Exer liked  David, but never in the way David liked Exer. He had come to terms with that, but for some reason Ron had not. When Ron had figured out that David was bi and was in love with his best friend it was freeing. But for some odd reason Ron had gotten the impression that surely Exer must like David back. Which, sure David would've loved, was unbearably not true. David could feel his face flush an embarrassing tint of red as Exer started at him.
And then Exers hands landed on his face and their lips met. A soft yet painful sensation spread through David's chest. His eyes flickered shut, god he has dreamed of this moment for what felt like decades, But it wasn't real. Exer was drunk and it was only a game, he would never do this willingly, he would never like David more then a friend. Exers hands burned into his skin, if it had been any warmer it would've burned a mark onto David's face, though he Wouldn't mind. David decided to focus on the kiss, sure Exer hadn't done it willingly but still, HE WAS KISSING EXER CAMPBELL. Sure, he tasted of beer but somewhere behind it hid a sweet sensation. His lips forever burned into David's memory, and then, he pulled back. David had wished he wouldn't have but he could never say that. David knew he was basically a tomato at this point, at this honestly now nothing could make it worse.
-You just had to kiss him on the cheek..Ken, one of Jackson's detention friends commented.
The rest of the crowd sat In silent surprise. Just staring at the pair by the couch.
-Oh I- i um- Exer scrabbled for words.
-Well, present time! Brenda cut in hurriedly, diverting the crowds attention.
David pulled the gift out of his pocket, and handed it to his friend, paying very close attention as to not make eye contact. The boy took it, his warm hands slightly touching David's finger. He pealed open the warping, though not trurning it as to see the underside. But David didn't want to overthink it. He glanced up not sure if he actually wanted to, Exer wasn't looking at David. He was looking at the box, mouth wide open.
-Do you like it? David tried to laugh, it sounded more like a very bad fake cough.
Exer didn't respond, he simply shot a glance at Brenda and suddenly Ronald stood behind Jackson and Ken, dangling the holly intimidatingly above them. Then finally Exer turned to David, a huge smile on his face. David realized that now everyone was eyeing the awkward pair in the sofa instead of him and Exer.
And then David felt a small peck on his lips, Exers tacky Christmas sweater grazing his hand. The familiar feeling shot up and He felt he might pass out.
-Thank you, day. Exer whispered, so only David could hear it.
Then he turned back to look at his lifetime gift card for the arcade, with "love David" written on the inside of the box. (David had forgot about writing this, thank god.)
