It was a night at the halloween carnival. I was going to meet my boyfriend here, but he decided to dump me. I was sitting alone on a bench watching happy couples ride the ferris wheel. Everyone seemed so happy and so cheerful, I felt so heart broken. I felt like I was the only one nobody loved. I suddenly felt like I was being watched from behind. I turned my head but found nothing but chatty teens talking to each other. I thought it was enough and got up. I walked around looking for something to do, because I paid good money to be here so I might as well try to have fun.

I came across countless games and rides you could do, but none of them looked fun to me. I finally came across a haunted corn maze. It looked cool so I gave a ticket to the guy at the front. As I was walking through the maze, spooky music was playing along with the distant screams of other people walking through the maze. From the screams, I could tell that this was going to be a long ride. I personally don't like scary stuff, so this was some improvement I had. As I was walking through, people in costumes jumpscared me and grabbed my ankles. Everything was pretty cool until I reached this one corn maze worker. He was huge with a big red sweater that had a turtleneck. His hands looked like red claws, he had black pants and black boots. He had a red demon mask on that showed his beady eyes and his grinning smile as he looked at me like I was food. I noticed he was very tall. I had a bad feeling about him, he didn't seem like the others. He just stood there and didn't do anything but smile.

He then started to drool, like he was some sort of animal. "U-u-uhm... sir, can I get by please?" He was blocking the rest of the path, he started to tilt his head to the side. I was a little unnerved by how big his smile was and how wide his eyes were. I could hear him breathing heavily while staring at me. "O-ok, you got me... I'm scared now. You can move now..." I nervously said, smiling like an idiot. He finally let me through after hearing more people coming my way. I walked away quickly, I turned my head to see him let the others pass through. He was looking at me the whole time. He then waved goodbye to me while staring into my soul. After I was done going through the maze, I couldn't stop thinking about that guy. He acted so differently from the other maze workers. I then realized that he didn't have a nametag like the others. I had chills down my spine, but I shook it off thinking he just forgot to put it on.

I bought ice cream and sat down to eat it when I saw him again. He was standing in the distance. He was still staring at me with that creepy big smile. Again, he tilted his head slightly. I lost my appetite and threw the ice cream away. I went to my car in the dark parking lot. I opened the car door and went in. As I turned my headlights on, I saw him in front of my car. He waved again with a smile, he started to walk towards my car window. I rolled my window down "A-are you following me!? What do you want from me!" He stared at me some more, then he held his hand up. He held my wallet like he was giving it to me. "Oh, I forgot my wallet... thank you- sir..." As I grabbed my wallet, we both touched hands, the whole time he was still staring at me with that smile. I took my wallet and set my hand away from him unsettlingly. He stepped back from my car as I was driving away. I looked through my rearview mirror to see him watching me leave. He was waving goodbye to me. I shouldn't be so judgy on him, he is probably just in character like the rest of them. He was really creepy though, I really hope that was his job. I came home and got out of my car, I looked across the street to see him again under a streetlight. He just stood there, I blinked and he disappeared. I assumed that I was just imagining it and that I needed to get my mind off of it. The next morning, I sat down at the dining table drinking coffee and listening to the news. "There is a cannibal serial killer on the loose, Bob Velseb. He escaped prison last night and is known to be wearing a red demon costume."
