"Boss, we're waiting for you!"
Moxxie leaned on his side by the doorway of their office as he waited for his employer from the bathroom to get ready for the gala. Fiddling with the ends of his suit, the white-haired imp sighed in annoyance as he wondered how long does it take to wear a simple tux and freshen up his appearance. It's not like his boss to ever care what anyone thinks of him, despite important people like the princess and Lucifer himself attending the gala- but that's beside the point! He wouldn't care nonetheless of that fact! Unless......
Moxxie sighed again and shook his head fondly; smiling and forming a smirk at the thought of Blitzø putting in some effort to maybe impress his bird lover, Prince Stolas. And they've come a long way to get to this point, what with all the events that have happened for the past year.
He thought back to that time where he and Blitzø managed to stop Striker from killing stolas during the Harvest Moon Festival. Grimacing, as he remembered the angelic rifle Striker possessed. If Blitzø hadn't gotten there in time...... No. He shook his head and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Wondering about the what-ifs won't help anybody here. And he's thankful that nothing life-threatening had happened to anyone else in the festival. His wife, Millie, did have to be on crutches for a few weeks due to the fight they had in the beginning with Striker, but all was well after that.
He hadn't been there to witness what happened before he entered to back up his boss, but he had a feeling it had something to do with how his boss has been on edge ever since that day. To anyone else, he still acts like the usual eccentric boss of the I.M.P company, an asshole, and going about with everything he does with a nonchalant stride without a care in the world. But when you've spent years working and spending most of your time with him, you get to pick up on tiny cues that give way to what he's truly feeling. Being more guarded and cautious than usual during their times in the living world to fulfill a client's request, and being reserved and silent at odd times when he thinks no one was looking, indicating the clouded thoughts he's been having lately.
It only lessened after the day humans had caught them. The imp didn't know what his boss saw in his hallucination, but it had affected him to the point where they had a serious conversation with each other (as much as Blitzø can give) and eased up on using him as a punching bag with insults on the following days. Probably because Blitzø was practically glowing with happiness when entering the meeting room the following morning after the capture. Proudly stating that he'll be having a date the following week "so don't bother me." The taller imp said.
Hypocritical of his boss when he's the one who's been intruding into their personal space.
The company's hellhound secretary and adoptive daughter of, said boss, Loona, just stated "It's about time". While Blitzø rushed to hug her affectionately at that, "Awww Loony! You do care!" The mentioned hellhound slightly growled at the sudden smothering. Millie just giddily vibrated out of sheer joy from finally having their boss and the owl prince be one step closer to being partners!
As the weeks and months went by, the owl and the imp have grown closer and closer to finally confessing each other's true feelings and finally making it official, despite Stolas still being married. Blitzø understands this of course and doesn't let that fact bother him, but is still irritated by the rule that both parties should agree on a divorce, unless of course the king of hell himself approves of it despite one side not agreeing to it.
Octavia, Stolas' daughter, was surprisingly okay with Blitzø officially being with her dad. Saying that she's always known how utterly fake the marriage between her parents has been, and this is the only time her dad has been really happy with someone romantically. But didn't let Blitzø get away without some threats being acknowledged.
