His job was to make rail roads he was really good at it. He was so good they called him the rail spliter. That was just one of his jobs that began his long journey to become President of the United states. Fact, there's only a few real life pictures of Lincoln he was really tall even more with his hat the tallest president ever. At some point he got to a new job but that's a story for another day.
