JJ's POV
it was the day of the party and in all honesty, i had mixed feelings. mainly based around Ellie. like will it be awkward or will it be how it used to be before. of course it's not gonna be how it used to be before, we drifted. we all did. we never spoke and now we're much older. i was tooken aback from thoughts when i got a knock on my bedroom door.
"yo come in" i shouted
simon came in and said "we need to start making a move to the location jj, all the decorations have been put up. need to be there for 6 and it's nearly that time"
i nodded and got up, picking up my phone and shutting my door. the car ride was only 20minutes and not that long, but my heart
started to race as i saw a girl standing against her car on her phone. i pulled up behind her car and got out. making eye contact with the girl. the girl who was Ellie.
Ellie's POV
i got to the location JJ had sent me but it seemed no one was there. i was there pretty early though because he told me the time to be there as he would be there aswell. the time was 6pm. so if anything jj was late, not me. i decided to step out of my car for some extra fresh air and heard a car pulling up behind my one. i turnt my head to see a tall man stepping out of the car, both of us giving heavy eye contact. it was JJ.
i wanted to just run up to him and hug him so much but i didn't. instead i just walked and gave him a quick hug and left it as that. we both pulled away and all i could muster out was a hi and he smiled at me and returned it. we then made our way into the place where the party was held. it was like a big mansion and i was sure i saw it before when i came across one of the sidemens videos. there was a dj, balloons, decorations and a bar. in all honesty i was exited about the bar then anything else.
couple hours had past and more and more people started to show. i had no idea why JJ told me to meet at "his place" when this looked like a venue but oh well i wasn't one to judge. i sat there, at the bar ordering two shots. i go to pay the bartender but he refuses. "no need, it's all been paid for" he says and smiles at me. i smile back and put my money away in my purse. i looked like a total idiot. i downed my two shots and shortly after ordered more. time went by and still no sign of JJ. he invited me here to "talk" not make me look like an outsider. like a dickhead. more time passed and i was still sat at the bar, ordering drinks and shots after another till i then felt my lip start to feel weird signalling it was kicking in. i go to stand up and instantly the room starts to spin and i have to sit back down. with my head in my hands trying to control the spinning i felt a tap on my shoulders. i turn round to see JJ. "can i speak to you, el" he says with a soft tone. i never forgot how much that nickname he gave me made my heart skip a beat. the nickname always stuck around and everyone calls me it but it never felt the same unless it was coming out of his mouth. i slowly got up, trying to balance myself. JJ tried to help me but i said to him that i was fine.
we ended up in one of the rooms and he turns to shut the door to keep the blaring music out as it was a bit hard to even think, let alone hear what someone's saying. he comes closer to me and starts to speak. "el i just want to say i'm sorry" "sorry for what j? you didn't do anything. it was mutual. we all fell out because we drifted. because we got busy with our lives. it's not your fault." i reply back to him with a smile. "yeah i know and i get that. but i still feel guilty. we were best friends. not only us three but mainly you and me. we were close el. like really close." he sighed. "jj listen to me" i replied coming closer as i closed the gap between us. " it wasn't your fault. anyways i'm here now. it's all fine" i go to pull him into a hug and he returns it. a smile formed onto my face as i had missed this. his arms around me. his scent. his smile and his laugh. most importantly those brown eyes in which you could get lost in. we both held eachother for a few more seconds until he pulled away and spoke "i missed you el, so much. I'm sorry i didn't reach out to you until i saw that you was here in London. i should've known, i want us to be close again. i miss you so much." "is this you asking me to be best friends again, jide" i smirk causing him to laugh. "yes el it is, so will you" i make a thinking face and look at him with a smile. "of course i will jj" he goes to hug me again and i hug him back. "right come, let me introduce you to everyone."
