It was like any other day. The sun was blazing, pokemon chirping about, and the city quietly buzzing alive. But It was also the day I lost something important... and it almost broke me.
For the longest time, I couldn't put myself together and laid there like shattered pieces.

May sprinted into the house before slamming the door wide open, panting. From the loud intrusion, Her brother, Max nearly dropped his orange juice, however his glasses dropped
"Geez May! you could've broke my glasses!" Max complained, checking his specs for any severe damage.
"Don't care, where did Dad go?" May asked, rushing in the house, frantically searching inside the house. Max watched her and blew out a sigh, pointing outside.
"Petalburg Woods. Pay more attention to your surrounding next time...."
"Not in the mood Max."The brunette retorted flatly and walked towards the door, already exasperated by her brother.
Max rolled his eyes, "Since when were you in the mood is the better question." May footsteps slowed to a stop. She changed direction and marched in front of Max, "You want to say it again to my face young man?" Max sniffed at May's threat.
"Have you ever heard of actually listening to words? I'm not your voicemail!" He snarled.
"Hey I know how to-"May's words fell short; a sound of an explosion echoed over their ears. All of May's anger melted as she looked to the window. Smoke was steaming from the woods. Concerned and confused, May fled past Max and left the house.
"May I-"
"Max, I need to get over to the woods. You said Dad was there!"
"Let me talk dang it! I'm coming with you!"

The Petalburg Woods was burning in chaotic flames.
"Dad? Dad! Where are you" May called out. She was about to sprint off when something tugged her shirt. To her surprise, Max was clutching on the back of her shirt, his eyes big as a toddler. Uncertain, May crouched down to Max's height.
"Max, what's wrong, what happened?" She shook his shoulder, trying to coax Max of saying anything.
"...Dad." He whispered
"What?" May asked, slightly bewildered. Max brother pointed, refusing to glance at it. May's sapphire eyes followed, before she gasped horror.
Their dad, Norman was slumped against a tree. The burning trees illuminated the flowing blood running down his head. May, followed closely by Max, slid to their dad's sides. Saying that they were startled was understatement.
Max gently shook their father, "Dad? Dad! Wake up!" Not a muscle was moved. Max shook him harder, refusing giving up. May was completely overwhelmed to move; she watched as Max uselessly trying to wake up their dad. The wisps of the fire were getting stronger; smoke started to cloud her breath, reminding her this is reality.
"What a pathetic scene."
Turning around, May saw a 25 year old women with short silver-like hair. She has black glasses, and a machine shapes as a cannon attached to her arm. She was riding on a frightening Salamence, disinterested in the their dilemma.
"Did you do this my Dad!" May accuse her. Whether it was true or not, didn't matter to her. The women disregarded May's words, and flew off for an escape. Furious, May threw out her pokeball.
