I wake up to my teacher Mr. Gilbert screaming at me to wake up. I ignore him and look at the board I can barely see what's written. Even squinting my eye.I put my head down, I Hate 8th grade sometimes."Oh, you're not listening to me? Detention after class." Detention again? I think I'll be able to survive it like all the other times I've been in it. I should pass a note to Kell at the end of class, as I always do telling him to tell mom that I'm in detention. That way I wouldn't have direct anger from her. Not to mention she would have cooled down a bit from the time I got home. Now that I'm getting detention I don't have to pay attention in class. What else is he gonna do write me up? Thinking about that he would but I don't care I'm already in enough trouble so I put my head down, trying to sleep as I didn't sleep well last night. Everything suddenly starts to tremble I wonder why's that. BAM, I fall off of my seat as all the windows break and shatter. "What the hell happened." I shrieked as I stood up with a few cuts from the glass. The class is on fire, what the hell! I need to get out of here or else I'll suffocate. I look at Kell and grab his hand tightly. "we have to get out of this together!" "What about the other people!" Kell asked panicked and worried."I'm sure they could help themselves now let's go!" I say as I push the door open in a rush. There's a bunch of screaming and yelling. I could sense panic in the air it's like I could smell the fear. "Roshuk what are you doing this way!" Kell yelled I follow him running down the stairs after pushing the door open. Now we are on the 2nd floor of this 3-floor long building. We hear a haunting shriek coming from the next staircase it seemed inhuman. I and kell look at each other in terror. "it's probably someone's dog." Kell said. " Who brings a dog to school" I replied but he ignored me. Kell carefully goes down the steps slowly. SHRIEK, something, someone jumps at him. They, it has big red claws. It opens its mouth and starts inhaling something out of Kell's mouth while Kell has his eyes rolled back. I need to get it off of him! I try to kick it off but I can't! I look for things to use against it and I use a big shiny shard of glass. I grab it and stab it it lets out a scream and Kell's eyes roll back to normal. I grab him and run down the steps. I realize that he was passed out so I carry him on my back instead. it slows me down but it's not that I care, right now what matters is life or death. I run and I run until I see the exit, it feels so relieving I forget that the smoke is killing me for a second. But the worst strikes, the floor under the exit falls blocking the path I would go the other way around but there's already fire blocking it I then get pulled from behind, making me hit the ground his Kell. "oh! sorry about that. I yanked too hard." a feminine voice says. I pick myself up. "oh yeah it's fine! I just got pulled so hard that I almost felt like my head got broken! Anyways who are you." she ignores me. " I'm jasmine, that kid laying on the bed is Lars. That other kid looking outside is James. " I take a look at Lars he seems unconscious. I take a look at the whole room. This is the Nurse's room, she must've been on break because she isn't here. There are two beds Kell is also unconscious so I put him in the other one. " What happened to Lars?" I asked curiously as it seemed similar to what happened to Kell. "Some monster attacked him while we were trying to escape it had sharp red claws but looked human. Now we are waiting for it to go, have you seen it?" What she said seems similar to what happened to Kell, maybe we met the same monster? "Yeah, I have. I have it stabbed it. It was like sucking my sibling brother's soul!" Her face changes into a rather worried expression after I said that. "Same that's why Lars like that. Anyhow now we can escape let's get ready James. " Escape?! "Yeah about that. if we want to escape we have to go through the other side." I said fidgeting. "What? The other side? why the exit is right there? Let me see what happened." She runs outside to check, and shortly after she comes back looking like she lost her spirit. "We're going to die! The fire is already spreading over here. What are we going to do!" She is right at this point we should accept our fate. if I'm going to die I would like to die next to my brother. I walk over to Kell's bed and put my head down on his chest. "Mmh, mhmm." Kell suddenly wakes up. Wait, Kell woke up?! "Kell you're awake finally!" I shout out. "Uh. No? Who are you, get away from me!" Kell then falls to the ground hitting his head hard. "Oh, sorry I lost my memory for a second. " I bring him up again. " Kell how do you feel!" I ask not expecting anything good really or bad. " I feel like I got my life expectancy shortened to 10 years. So if that's ok to you then yeah!" ou sarcasm? I got to fight him back. "Shocking ! as if it wasn't already low enough." Kell puts off a pissed-off face after I say that meaning I won he lost. "Who are th-." Kell half says getting interrupted by James. "Guys what if we break through the window to escape!" I think that I idea is pretty good but before I can respond he breaks the window open. He leaps through. "Guys, follow my lead." He says with a smirk without a question I jump through the window, I don't want to suffocate anymore. it feels so refreshing to be outside for onc., Kell jumps outside right after me helping Jasmine with Lars. I took a deep breath "Does this not feel refreshing guys?" I ask them. "Yeah, it would be refreshing and all if there weren't things in the sky that have red orbs coming out of them. Hmm, what's the word, oh right portals! " Kell said and I look at the sky just to realize he is right. come on Roshuk don't panic now, stay optimistic."We're going to die! What is this the apocalypse, I rather throw myself inside the school that's a fancy dancing flame at this point." Jasmine said tears falling down her cheek. A red orb heads its way to us. Maybe it's good, well I mean it has to be good we still haven't moved away from it. it goes inside Lars, and within a few seconds, Lars is now growing red sharp claws while glowing. Uh oh is he turning into one of those, that thing that tried to kill Kell earlier? I yelled at Jasmine. "Drop him!" She did it with hesitation. "Lars? are you ok?" Jasmine said even more tears coming out. "That's not Lars anymore!" I say as I grab her by the hand and run away with the others. I don't know where we were running at just running but by the looks of it, James was leading us. On that day we saw many different things. Zombies, moving shadows, even more portals, and even Giants! "Guys come over here." James said as he pointed to a random corner store he busted through the door and we followed. "Hm they aren't here." who's that James talking about? so I ask him "who's they?" "oh, they're my parents. They own this store, I guess I forget they don't work on Thursdays." That's interesting what type of store doesn't work on Thursdays. "Well you guys can help yourself for now after all we are in that so-called apocalypse." James said with a neutral expression. "Well if you don't mind James. I'ma look around for some material to fight off those zombies and whatever those other things are." I said mockingly, after all, he said to help ourselves. I look for the janitor's closet first it's always where the mops are and mops can be broken to pierce through skin am I right?
