Segway Into Love

Summary: An impromptu double date goes wrong when Patricia, Joy, Eddie and Jerome run into trouble at the local mall.

Trudy arched her eyebrow disappointedly as the door to the holding cell buzzed open, releasing the four troublemakers. The ride back to Anubis House was incredibly awkward with the woman's disappointed silence weighing heavy on the students.

It wasn't until they were all safely back in the Anubis sitting room with all their friends that Trudy asked the question the two couples had been dreading.

"What on earth happened tonight?" demanded the woman.

"Yeah, I didn't even know that malls had jails," laughed Fabian, clearly enjoying the embarrassment of his friends.

"Ha ha, laugh it up Rutter," snapped Jerome sinking further into the couch cushions in embarrassment.

"It wasn't really a jail," protested Joy.

"You had to be buzzed out of a holding cell by a uniformed guard" drawled Trudy. "Pretty sure it was at jail".

"No way, it keeps getting better! I am looking forward to this story," giggled Mara snagging a handful of popcorn from the bowl Willow had brought.

"Thanks M, what about the sisterhood" scowled Patricia

"The whole point of having sisters is to stock up on embarrassing dirt" grinned the girl.

"Wasn't this just supposed to be a normal date night?" asked KT. "I mean how did you guys end up in so much trouble?

Exchanging looks, Eddie, let out a long sigh before beginning to tell his tale. "Well, it all started when Joy wanted to go out for ice cream."

"What's up, Helmet Head" greeted Joy, dropping down onto the couch beside her boyfriend and laying her head on his shoulder.

"Afternoon, Joyless" smirked Jerome, closing his book. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I'm bored and hungry so I was wondering if you wanted to go into town with me. Maybe we could get ice cream at the mall"

"I don't know... I really should do my reading for Miss Valentine's class"

Joy quirked her eyebrow in disbelief, "Really? Jerome Clarke passing up time with his gorgeous girlfriend to do homework?"

"Sorry, Joy. Finals are in a few weeks and I'm honestly shocked I made it this far"

"If you come with me I'll tell you the cliff notes version in the cab?" bribed Joy, twining their hands together and batting her lashes at her boyfriend.

Jerome weighed his options, before nodding. "I guess it couldn't hurt to take a break"

"Awesome! I'll get Patty, you get Eddie" grinned Joy, jumping to her feet

"What?"

"Yeah, I invited them to come with us"

"Why?" asked Jerome, confused why the pair would be coming on their impromptu date.

"Uhh, because Patricia is my best friend"

"And..." prompted Jerome, sensing his beautiful girlfriend was holding something else back.

"And... Mr. Sweet just gave Eddie a ton of cash meaning we won't have to pay for our ice cream if we bring him" admitted Joy sheepishly

"Free food? Why didn't you start with that" grinned Jerome, hurrying off to find the American boy.
