Feels like an eternity ago,
We were laughing along,
On late night calls,
Constantly caught up,
Being there for one another,
Crying to one another,
Yet it suddenly changed,
Months flew by,
Right before my eyes,
And finally we meet,
In the moonlight,
I gave you a hug,
But it wasn't the same,
An awkward tension,
Throughout conversation,
I laugh and chat,
But it doesn't feel right,
It's not the same, as it was,
I feel out of place,
A thorn in your side,
Watching along, from the sidelines,
Slowing you down, as you go on,
I simply no longer belong,
You've found someone
Who makes you happy,
A school where you're flexible
Carefree and happy,
Yet I feel, like a second thought,
You never call anymore,
Even when I pick up,
You don't answer, and I'm alone,
The silence speaks volumes,
And it's drowning me slowly,
Where did my friend go,
What have you done to her?
I don't recognize you anymore,
Perhaps it is time, for me to let go,
Of the eternity we shared long ago.
