Morning Routine

A warm and bright sun occupied the ever changing skies of Inkopolis. The sun shined with its ever luminescent glory radiating beauty and awaking the general population. From peasant to prestige the sun glowed to awake them with beaming light. Though even a warm sun like this could not awaken some people, especially a special someone. Laura Lopèz slept peacefully in her small apartment. Its walls were far from sturdy and the only thing luxurious about the place was the price of its rent. She snoozed past her first alarm. Then her second alarm. Even the banging chimes of her final alarm couldn't wake up this sleeping "beauty". What her alarms could not do her roommate definitely could.

Sophie: "Luara! Luaaaaraaa! Come on!"

Laura: mmnph- mmm

Sophie sighed looking at Laura's beaten up phone and realized that time was shrinking by the second. She decided to do what was now the usual wake up routine. She went over to the kitchen and lit a small candle. She set the candle down near Laura's bed before going into the Bathroom to wash up

Laura smelt the ever pleasant smell of fresh, roasted coffee beans. A smile formed on her face as she rose from her slumber like a coffee addicted frankenstein. Her smile quickly turned into a frown, stretching as she got up and out of bed with a sigh. She put a hand through her purple hair and looked into a nearby mirror, looking at herself before shrugging and walking over to the candle. Laura pinched the small flame out with her fingers before grabbing her usual attire from her wardrobe and getting dressed.

After a quick change from pjs to work attire the girl would walk into the kitchen. A meager three steps away from where Laura was sleeping. The girl poured herself some cereal while she waited for Sophie to finish getting ready.

Sophie put on some music as she got ready. Taking a quick shower, stepping out and drying her reddish hair and combing it so when let down it looked nice and neat. Her hair was a unique blend of red and pink, it was somewhere between the two colors and it led to Sophie taking good care of her precious locks. She brushed her teeth three times over with a gentle hand all while her playlist blared. After some other crucial steps Sophie rushed out and quickly slobbered some peanut butter on some bread and munching down on it, her eyes glued to the clock.

Her tired roommate took her time, only getting up once she was finished with her bowl. Setting it in the sink and flicking a small arrow on a dual colored board, the two colors on the board were purple and red. The arrow spun and spun until it landed on the color purple. Laura looked back to Sophie and switched the arrow to show that it landed on red.

Luara: whoops looks like you're doing dishes tonight Soph

Sophie: Wh- what?! Again?! Maaaaaan...

Sophie pouted, stuffing her face with her peanut butter laced bread before wiping herself off and standing up. She stood next to Laura and towered over her. Sophie was a big girl when compared to other inklings, standing a tall 6'3 with appropriate features. Her dark skin glowed as the sun hit her face and she smiled warmly towards Laura. A big grin covered her face as she spoke

Sophie: Come on Laura we can't be late for our new year of work!

Laura: yeaah can... I can not wait

Sophie: I know right?! A whole new year of work!! Here we can race there! Start our day off with a challenge!

Laura: Well, finding an empty seat on the bus is more of a challenge.

Sophie: ...heyy good point! That'll be the challenge! Come on!

Sophie spoke with pure enthusiasm, jumping a little in her excitement. Her hand reached for her lunch and her legs jumped for the door.

Laura: suuuure... hehe

Laura let out a small chuckle, grabbing her own lunch and walking out with Sophie. With a turn of the hand Laura locked the door and rushed to keep up with her overly excited companion. Both now rushing to get to Catfish Cafè.
