A loud chewing filled the room making him hold his pen tight. He lightly tapped the pen on the paper trying to concentrate on what he was thinking
"You're not helping" He mumbled.
He tilted his head checking if the position of his head might make the question easier.
"Ughhh it's too hard" he groaned and slammed the paper back to the table
"Okay, I agree it is but the normal Mashiho I know would have solved this shit hours ago, you're just stressed honey"
Mashiho raked his hair backwards and sighed before looking at Ryujin.
"I mean, I don't understand why she needs a man. She can't keep them. This is like the Sixteenth time she's getting engaged. I'm sick of all of this." Mashiho looked away from Ryujin and looked straight to his phone
Ryujin spat out her gum making Mashiho grimace at her. She patted Mashiho's back in a fatherly way making Mashiho hiss
"What the hell Ryu?"
"Look son, everyone needs a companion, don't say that about her...What do you do if your pet gold fish dies?" Ryujin asked and jumped on Mashiho's bed
"Uhmm you get a new one?–––
" Exactly! So give her some break and enjoy meeting someone new" Ryujin said using her leg to kick Mashiho
Mashiho glared at her and sighed. Mashiho's father abandoned his mother when she told him she was expecting. She was twenty back then so she raised Mashiho singlehandedly, her parents didn't even want to be a part of Mashiho's life
When Mashiho turned twelve, She started introducing some men to him, she got engaged most times but they didn't last either because she cheated or her partner did. Sucks
"She says she's serious about this one" Mashiho said looking at the texts his mother sent. He rolled his eyes
"That's something new" He sarcastically said rolling his eyes making Ryujin chuckle. Ryujin got out of the bed and snatched Mashiho's phone. As she read the texts, her brows furrowed
"I mean, the texts sound serious"
"Mhm right" Mashiho said not believing a shit
"And she wants me to come back home for the holidays, so I can meet my future 'father', That's total bullshit Ryu" Mashiho said and Ryujin shrugged
"Mm I think you should go back to Seoul though, it's been a year, Calls and texts won't keep a mother from yearning for her child" Ryujin said and Mashiho stared at her
"The hell you looking at?" She asked and let out a chuckle
"You're getting wiser, ah it's the Yeji effect" Mashiho said and Ryujin playfully punched his arm making him groan
"You really need to stop hitting me, how the hell are you this strong?" Mashiho groaned and let out a laugh revealing his bunny teeth. Ryujin shrugged and laughed too
"Hey, if you're really gonna go back to Seoul, I'm joining, Can't stay here alone" Ryujin said raising her hands up.
Mashiho wanted to ask about Yeji, her crush but he chose not to ask and just nod

"Ryujin" He muttered
"Mhn?"
"Where's the Uber you said you called" Mashiho asked trying to contain his anger, they were on the side of a road with their luggages in their hands
