New Beginning

After your mom receives a huge promotion from their job that requires you to move overseas to South Korea, you're left with a lingering feeling of anxiety. You have no idea how it works here, everything is so different from home, and your Korean is pretty damn rusty, since you only spoke it when you were around your cousins and late father. You feel extremely homesick, which is Ironic because you didn't even miss it that much.

Not only that, but back in [C/O], you weren't really....that close to many people. You never knew why, since you weren't the type to look for problems or talk behind other people's backs. You thought that maybe it was because of your face, since you've been told before that your face looked very "fierce" and intimidating, or that your vibes were just...off, somehow.

**Maybe it might have something to do with my personality?**

Either way, it was a big hassle for you to make friends.

Once the move was complete, you noticed that your house was the best looking one in the neighborhood, which might sound pretentious, but it wasn't really something to be proud of since you were gonna be residing in a neighborhood where it was considered the "lower-end" of society. You didn't feel uncomfortable because of the neighborhood itself though, it was more like...you felt guilty that you lived in such a nice house compared to your neighbors.

You decided to use your baking skills to make a few batches of treats to give around the neighborhood to introduce yourself. Who knows, you might even make a few friends in the process.

As you walk around the neighborhood, you knock on every door; Giving each neighbor a small box of confections while introducing yourself and your family. Sure, some of the neighbors didn't wanna accept your treats, or would straight-up just not open the door for you, but you expected it.

While walking to the next house, you felt a bit more anxious than before.
You decided to stop being a pussy and knock on the door. What greeted you at the door was nothing less than the prettiest guy you had ever laid your eyes upon. The nerves immediately banished, leaving nothing but admiration for this person.

You think to yourself-

**How can someone this pretty live in a neighborhood like this? Maybe they're just super good at putting on make-up.**

Either way, you introduced yourself like you did at any other house and handed the boy a box of sweets.

"Hello! My name is [Y/N] [L/N], I just moved into the neighborhood not too long ago, so I decided to introduce myself around here. I hope we can be friends."

The boy looked at the box for a few seconds with fascination. Maybe was hungry? Or perhaps...he's never had a sweet in his life? That might just be the case, with how skinny he was.

As you were distracted by your thoughts, the boy spoke up.

"Oh! I'm sorry- H-Hello! My name is Daniel Park. Nice to meet you. Did you by any chance make these yourself? I've never seen these kinds of sweets around here. They look delicious!"

His little compliment felt genuine, which made you light-up with happiness. He was actually complimenting your sweets!

Feeling giddy from his compliment, you thank him and start to ramble on about the treats, and then that ramble went on to explain your living situation and how you're new to the country, which then led to you explaining how you're bad at making friends and that you're still confused about most stuff here.

The boy switches the topic mid-conversation with a question that you yourself didn't know the answer to until later on.

"What school will you be attending? You moved in very recently, no? With your talent, you should come to J High School, we have a baking department that might interest you. I'm currently in the Fashion department myself!"

As Daniel mentioned his school's name, your heart skipped a beat. He continued to talk about the school and all its departments, but you were already hyper-focused on ONE  thing.

**J....J High School?? THE J High School?? The school known for having some of the best baking and pastry courses in the region??**

You just had to interrupt Daniel for a quick second, you needed to confirm this was the same school before you went into cardiac arrest in this small, run-down neighborhood.

"DANIEL- Daniel please shut up for a sec, I'm about to faint."

And just like that, Daniel shut his mouth.

"J...J High School? The J High school that Seo-Joon Kwon attended? The J High School that Mr.Bap taught his students the art of Russian piping?? IS IT THAT ONE???"

You couldn't hide your excitement, anyone could see it slipping through. After all, it was kinda hard for you to not show your emotions, since you were so expressive with your face and body language.

You continued to bombard Daniel with questions about the school, which although seemed to catch him off guard, he was happy to answer all of them.

A few hours pass by, so you decide to look at your phone.

[5 Missed calls from Old Hag]

I'm going to die.

All that excitement quickly washed away, all that you were left with was nothing but eternal dread.

You knew that you were currently taking your last breaths, so you decided to take a chance now that you were enjoying your last seconds on earth.

"Daniel...Are they still taking in new students?"
