-harry-

I stepped through the door of the room of requirement, the room already drenched in soft light. "Harry! Hey." Draco greeted. I turned to where his voice was behind me and smiled. "Hey Draco." I walked over and dropped my bag on the floor by the worn leather sofas in front of the fire. Draco sat down beside me and hoisted his legs up, so that he was sat practically hugging his knees. "I finished the potions essay by the way" He smiled. I beamed back and thanked him for doing most of the work. "Please Potter, you were doing both of our grades a favour by letting me do the work." I felt a slight twang in my chest, I was so used to him calling me Harry, that being called Potter felt alien, and venomous. But there was not an ounce of venom behind what he said. It felt friendlier than before.

I reached behind the arm of the sofa and grabbed my bag. Out of which I pulled various snacks. Draco's eyes widened in what I can only assume was happiness as he saw the variety of food I had procured from Dobby after dinner. He grabbed the box containing two slices of treacle tart and took one. "These are a bit of a guilty pleasure." He explained, through mouthfuls. "Really? I'm not guilty about it, I fucking love this shit." I laughed, grabbing the other slice. I looked up and noticed a subtle smirk playing on his lips as he looked away. I cocked my head, "And what are you smiling at?" I asked, snapping him back from his thoughts. "Oh, nothing really." I knew he was lying, but maybe it wasn't the most fantastic idea to accuse him of lying when we had only just become friends.

There was an awkward moment of silence, while Draco munched on an apple, back in his own head. His legs now dangling off the arm of the sofa. I just admired his form for a moment. A hobby I had found myself indulging in whenever I got the opportunity. He was beautiful. I could say that much. But I shouldn't find him so appealing, I mean, I'm not gay. I know I'm not, but would a straight man ever admire another man the way I am. Would they? I had found myself so lost in my own thoughts that I hadn't even noticed the shift in Draco's position to face me. I felt his hand on my arm, shaking me. And then I tuned in to his voice, repeating my name. "Huh- oh sorry Draco, I must've zoned out." I blinked, coming to. "Yeah, zoned out looking at my frankly fantastic bod" He flexed his muscles before continuing. "I don't blame you, I would too if I were gay. Oh! and don't worry, I'm not judging by the way" He added on the last bit hurriedly. "I'm not gay Draco" I shook my head, trying my hardest to look confused. Draco just smiled before punching me playfully in the arm. "Oh please you don't need to lie." I punched him back, earning a shove from the blonde. "Oh it's on" I pushed him back harder, resulting in him falling onto the floor. But not before dragging me down with him. We wrestled for a while, Laughing and screaming as we did so. Until after a minute I managed to climb on top of him and pin his hands above his head so he couldn't fight back.

-draco-

He was on top of me, and it was hard to ignore how close our faces were to eachother. I tried turning my head to the side, and he took one of his hands away from my wrists to turn my face back to him. I got so lost in his emerald eyes that I failed to catch myself  before I moved my head and connected our lips. I don't know why I did it, but I felt his grip on my wrists loosen and I took the opportunity to move one of my hands up to the back of his head. I let my hand get tangled in his surprisingly soft hair as we kissed. We soon had to part our lips to breathe and as soon as we did My lips began to tingle. He rested his hands on my chest as he looked to the side to conceal his blush. And I moved my hand to rest on his thigh. I could feel my face getting redder as the reality of what just happened began to set in.

At breakfast the next morning, Harry and I were fighting to catch the eye of one another. I chatted with Pansy and Blaise, taking note of the new glow we all had. It seemed as if I wasn't the only one who was enjoying spending time with my new potions partner. At some point Blaise zoned out, staring across the hall. Pansy and I shared a look before following his line of sight, finding a particularly red Ronald Weasley. We looked back at eachother and silently agreed to talk about it later. I was more than relieved to find out that I would be accepted. Even though Blaise had told me I would be, it was nice having proof I would be accepted.

A few hours later, the three of us had a free period while Crabbe and Goyle had Divination. So we would be undisturbed in our conversation. Pansy and I lead Blaise down to the lake. It was a cold autumn day, so other students outside the castle were few and far between. We sat down beneath the cover of a tree losing it's leaves for the colder seasons. Hogwarts was overwhelmingly beautiful with the sunlight glancing out of the clouds every so often, coating the grounds in a golden blanket. Nobody knew how to start the conversation, so we sat in silence and stared out to the lake for a moment. The serenity was soon disturbed by Blaise asking how potions was going. I seized the opportunity to bring up the subject of our partners. "It's going well, I am rather enjoying Potter's company. You were right." Blaise beamed in response. "Thank Merlin you've accepted it, your tension was thick enough to cut with a knife." Inhaling, I prepared my ambush. "I'm not the only one with apparent tension, Zabini." This earned a snort from Pansy. My eyes shot over to her "You aren't excluded from this you know." Her eyes widened in realisation and her face turned a shade of crimson. We all began to gush about our partners, taking in turns to describe them and why we had been so entranced by them. I had made it the furthest with Harry, Pansy following suit. Blaise however, had barely made it past the realisation stage. We all agreed to keep up with eachother on how it was going. The conversation eventually lightened and we found ourselves in fits of laughter. "Shit! We have potions right now!" Pansy shouted, quickly gathering her stuff and standing, dusting the fallen leaves off her robes.
