I was currently walking towards my father's office at home, well my home before I moved out and got a well payed job, since he said there was something really important he needed to discuss with me.

"Come in." He says from the other side of the door after I knocked.

I went in and sat on the seat in front of his desk as I waited for him to look up or say something.

Looking around his office, it brings back those old memories when mom still lived with us, our real mom. We used to play around his office and he wouldn't mind but ever since that step of a mother came in, everything changed.

"The marriage is on." He says shooking me out of my reverie.

I raise an eyebrow, tilting my head I said, "Pardon?"

He puts his pen down and looks up at me. My father looked like he aged 5 years older ever since I moved out of this house two years ago.

"The wedding I told you about two years ago will go on as planned, the planning of the wedding is in a week and the wedding is in three and a half months. Your sister will help you with the planning and --"

"Planning? Wedding? You have got to be kidding me dad, I don't even know who this guy is and why in the world do I have to marry this man? I'm 23 dad, almost 24 this coming November. I have a job that can sustain my needs and wants and --"

This time it was his turn cutting me off as he slammed his hands on the table.

"I do not care about what's currently happening in your life right now. I need you to drop all appointments you have on the week of the planning and on the month of the wedding."

"You can't just tell me what to do!" I exclaimed.

"Sit down, Madison." I didn't realize I stood up as I said those. He was making me mad and he knew it.

"This is illegal." I tell him.

"Not illegal because you signed this when you were eighteen years old."

"That was 6 years ago!"

"You were of age to sign the contract so there is no way out. Go home and pack your things, you will be staying in this mansion until the day of the wedding, after that, you may move in with your husband. You're dismissed now please leave Madison and do not disturb me anymore I have a meeting in ten." He said as he returns his attention to the laptop that was set up on the other table.

I stood up and walked out of his office. As soon as I got out, I saw some of my father's men surrounding my car.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

They all backed out from my car as I stood on my spot, sending them death glares.

"We were just checking for safety Miss Maxwell." One man said, stuttering.

"I don't care. I don't care if there was a bomb planted in it. They could kill me for all I care." I say getting in the car as I started the engine and drove off.

Checking for safety my ass. My father probably ordered them to set up some locator or something because he knows I'll run away after what he told me.

I'd have to give him credit for being so smart that he actually knew I was running away.

Well I was running away.

But without the car.

This is an impromptu decision and I don't know either if I'll survive without my car but I'm left with no choice.

I don't wanna do the damn wedding and no one can force me into doing.

As soon as I got home, I started packing my clothes, some shoes and my personal needs.

Looking around my place, I sighed. I've worked so damn hard to be able to buy this pent house and now I have to leave this place until maybe the wedding is off or maybe once I get someone to get rid of the stupid contract.

Why did I even sign that thing in the first place?

I mean I know I had a lot of dumb moments when I was younger but I didn't realize I was that dumb to sign a contract.

Did I even read that?

After packing I sat on my couch and booked the next flight to Wisconsin. I don't know why Wisconsin. I was just thinking of where I should fly and hide and then Wisconsin popped in my mind.

I booked myself a room for two days in one of the hotels, I wasn't going to live there since 1) my dad would be able to track me 2) my credit card would reach it's limit and I have no other way to pay for it.

Now one last thing. Ah yes.

I picked up my phone and dialed her number.

"Yes?" A voice answered on the other end of the line.

"Hey Jane, it's me."

"Oh Madison, yes hello, what can I do for you?"

I stood up pacing back and forth then sighed. This was it, I was leaving my job for good.

"I quit." I said.

"Quit? You? Madison this must be a joke, everyone knows how much you love your job, so why are you quitting? Is there something wrong? Did you get a threat?"

"Remember that arranged marriage of mine that was supposed to happen years ago?" I asked as I sat back down on the couch.

"Well duh, of course, we'd laugh about that all the time." She replied, laughing.

I couldn't find it in myself to join her laughing since it was going to happen.

"Madison?" She calls out.

"Jane it's going to happen. And I'm leaving the state until all of this gets sorted out, I don't wanna do it."

"But Maddie..."

"I know. I just, I can't do it okay? I don't wanna be like my sister. I'll fax the resignation letter to you tomorrow. I'm sorry for this spontaneous idea. I have to go now okay? I'll see you whenever." And with that I hang up.

I can't imagine how my new life in Wisconsin would be since I didn't knew anyone there.

I grabbed my bags and head out of the pent house, locking the door as I did so then went down.

"Excuse me, could you please call me a cab?" I asked the bell boy who was looking at me weirdly.

Probably because of all my clothes and me asking for a cab when I had a car in the parking lot.

"Uhm, sure ma'am."

After five minutes the cab was finally there, the bellboy helped me put my things in the trunk of the cab then, I was on my way to the airport.

Only one thing was going through my mind though, and it was how stupid this idea is.
