Heads up I'm pretty bad at writing and coming up with plots.

Searching your dirt covered jean pockets you pulled out your phone, staring distantly at your broken complexion in the cracked screen. When had your sleep schedule gotten so terrible? The cardinal is not going to pleased when he sees the deep purple circles that stained your under eyelids.

Your thumbs followed a familiar pattern, gingerly swiping through apps, until you found just the one you desired. Sliding your darkly coloured headphones over your ears you immediately felt at ease; the once lingering anxiety fled instantly.

The homely beats and rhythms that blared through your headphones filled your mind with excitement, each beat of the drum, each strum of the guitar, you felt it pulsing through your veins. Tapping your scarred fingers against the bus's windowsill perfectly in tune, mouthing the words as you stared out of the window. Despite listening to it hundreds of times over, you never seemed to get bored as if it was a brand new experience each and every single time.

It was your escape.

As the song came to an end you felt the rumbles of the bus coming to a halt. This was your stop. The thought of your looks soon returned and the anxiety with it. Alas time was not on your side, you scurried off the bus making sure to grab your belongings along side. You definitely couldn't miss your meeting with the cardinal, you desperately needed this job, and it was unfortunately the only job you could get left. Quite frankly, you didn't exactly know what this so called 'job' meant. However, a job means money and money means being able to afford a roof over your head. So you can't judge them.

Upon finally arriving in the village centre, you noticed immediately how quiet it was an uneasy feeling settled on your shoulders. You shuddered in an attempt to shake off your distress, obviously such things were useless. No matter, you had places to be, people to see.

While trying to locate your new surroundings at first you tried to use a sort of map, but you were completely baffled by such a concept. So now you are aimlessly wandering around in search of something you don't know the looks off. Sighing helplessly at your pitiful journey you didn't even need to check your phone to know you were late. Let's say first impressions aren't your forte.

After a couple more uncoordinated rounds searching the grounds of the village you stumbled upon a wooden sign that lead to a stone church. You had never been the religious or superstitious type but something about the way the bricks curved so perfectly and how the vines wrapped so delicately around them lured you closer. Similar of a moth to a flame, it called out for you. Despite all your senses trying to drag you back you stepped onto its unknown land.

Although your sudden bravery was demolished as the metal rimmed wooden door swung wide open.

A peculiar sight emerged. A man wearing a full red suit with brown hair and holding what you could only assume to be a small tricycle. He had deep black paint that covered his eyes. But what court you most off guard was his eyes. One simply being brown while the other was white, only showing the darkness of the pupil. Then, he spoke,

" Hello, you must be here for the job offer. Please call be Cardinal Copia, or just Copia if you prefer."
