Warnings for this chapter: Implication of Death, Cursing, Knives, Nightmares
You were in another nightmare. This one was bad, it was more than just Papyrus this time; you saw the human child jump through the monster's dust, like it was nothing. Each swing of their weapon was lethal, slicing through the opposing force.
You had tears falling down your face again, you hated crying so much, you were disappointed in yourself. Your parents would be disappointed in you.
The child then approached a squat skeleton. He was wearing a grey shirt, black pants, and blue boots. He had a blue scarf that fluttered in the wind heroically. His hands were on his hips, and his chest was puffed out.
"HALT, HUMAN!!" He yelled. His blue eye lights widen as the human child took another step. "HE-HEY! QUIT MOVING!" He now looks visibly shaken.
The human giggled and took yet another step toward the stout skeleton. The skeleton shivers. "HUMAN, I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT YOU! CHARA, DON'T MAKE ME FIGHT YOU"
The human walked to the skeleton, their knife gleaming, giggling. They stopped two strides away from the skeleton. Then they paused.
The skeleton wavered as the human giggled again. "LISTEN HUMAN, I BELEIVE YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON. I THINK YOU CAN CHANGE!!" He opened his arms in a hug, silently offering the small human child forgiveness.
The human took a step forward, looking like they were contemplating it. They let out a shout of laughter and charged at the skeleton. The stout skeleton's eye sockets went wide as they lifted the dusty knife...
~~~~~
You sat up, panting, sweat dripping down your body. You looked around, eyes wide. You were in your room, blankets strewn across your bed in a messy fashion, and your pillow on the floor. You sighed and bent down to pick it up.
You phone buzzes. You jump about a foot in the air and gasp. Your nightmares were leaving you jumpy. You growl softly and reach to pick it up. You squint your eyes as the bright light of your phone flares up. As your eyes adjust, you see the time.
"Shit!!" You wail. You were 2 hours late for work. You quickly discover you had twelve messages, all from Arie, all asking where you were and if you were ok. You quickly typed out that you'd overslept and threw your phone onto your bed.
You scurry to your closet and snatch up your work uniform, then threw it on. You scooped up your phone and then sprinted downstairs to the bakery. You nearly trip on the last step and clutch the wall to steady yourself. After you were good, you rushed into the bakery.
Arie was running from the kitchen to the cash register, taking orders and baking at the same time. She spun on her heels as you approached, her hair in a very sloppy bun.
"Y/N!!" Arie spluttered and threw a parcel at you, to which when you looked at it, it was a cinnamon bun. "You little piece of crap!!"
"I overslept, chill! I'm here now, am I not? This is no way to speak to your boss," You chide playfully. You knew she wasn't actually mad, just pretending. She did this from time to time.
Arie grumbles something and stomps back to the kitchen, leaving you to man the register. You groan softly and slide into the small alcove where the register sits. You give the woman waiting in line for checkout an apologetic smile as she places her order. You hand her the muffin and take the cash. You both exchange a friendly 'goodbye' and she walks out of the bakery.
Arie pokes her head around the doorframe in the kitchen. "You sleep well?" She asked. You notice she had flour in her hair. You gesture toward it and she pat it out.
