Chapter Two: Settling In And A Good Time

Third person pov:

Laurence woke up later in the day, Garroth was still sleeping on his lap while he was leaning against the wall.
"Ouch my back-" Laurence sighed then stretched. Garroth just woke from his nap, he sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes.
"How long was I sleeping for?" He asked
Laurence looked at the clock, "It's been four hours,"
"Four hours already? My stuff I need to unpack still!" Garroth frantically stood up, but Laurence grabbed his wrist and spoke,
"I put your stuff away already, and I did a load of your laundry. Don't worry, take it easy Garroth."
"Can we go see how Aph and Aaron are doing? I know Melissa is with them but I just want to be there for them?"
"Of course we can, how about you get some clean clothes from your closet and I'll text Aph."
"Okay," and Garroth went to change, while Laurence went downstairs and pulled out just phone from his pocket,

Texting section:

Laur: Hey Aph, is it alright if Garroth and I come over? He wants to see how you and Aaron are doing.

Aph: Yeah sure, Melissa is watching TV and Aaron is taking a nap right now.

Laur: Alright, we'll be right over!

Aph: Mkay! See you soon.

Laurence pov:

Garroth was ready and got his shoes on and then we were out the door, quickly crossing the street and then we were at Aphmau's house. We walked up to the door and knocked.
"Hey guys!" Melissa welcomed us in the house and went back to watching TV. We heard thumps coming from the stair case, Aaron was slowing going down the steps by sitting on a step, carefully putting his legs down the next and repeated the motion until he was down on the level floor.
"Is dinner almost ready? I'm kinda hungry" Aaron said, he almost seemed like an impatient kid waiting for dessert.
"Almost, how about you sit on the couch with Melissa?" Aph suggested. Aaron grabbed some crutches he was given from next to him and carefully and slowly walked to the couch, he banged the crutch against the couch by accident. But managed to get to where he wanted to sit. Garroth and Laurence joined Aaron and Melissa on the couch, Aphmau came over and sat too.
"How are you guys doing?" Garroth asked.
"Alright, we did just get back," Aph replied, turning the tv volume down a bit.
"Uh.. who are you?" Aaron asked pointing at Laurence. "I'm sorry I can't remember you, nor can I see you but your scent is one I don't remember."
"Haha, I'm Laurence, we known each other for a few years. I have light blue eyes and brown hair."
"Oh okay, cool."
Around ten minutes passed and dinner was ready, some simple macaroni. Laurence and Garroth stayed for dinner, and everyone caught up on Laurence's life while they were at Starlight. They also talked about the fun stuff they did at Starlight, leaving out all the depressing parts though.

Around nine thirty Aphmau decided she wanted to host a sleepover for everyone on MyStreet, to kinda celebrate coming home. Lucinda, Nana, Zane and Katelyn all came over. Kim and Travis both had already fallen asleep so they were just left to sleep. The group talked and played board games until eleven thirty-ish. Katelyn, Zane and Nana fell asleep on the couch, Melissa stole Lucinda and brought her up to the guest room where she was staying, Garroth brought Aaron upstairs for Aphmau and they were sleeping in their room, Laurence and Garroth slept on the carpet in front of the couch.

Laurence pov:

'Wake up'
'Shut up'
'Get up'
'Fuck off'

I give in and get up, ugh it's been years since this happened. It's been quiet since Highschool, now it chooses to bother me. I carefully get up and walk to the bathroom. I lean over the sink, hands on either side of it and I look in the mirror. In my reflection I see myself with red eyes and eerie veins coming down onto my cheeks.

'What do you want?'
'Control.'
'Well you're not getting it.'
'Cmon Laurence! Aren't we friends?'

The stupid voice in my head, I shake my head and go outside. I couldn't care less if it's cold out and I'm out here in a tank top and loose pj pants. I need out, I wander down the street, ignoring the chills. I get to the end of the street.
"The park isn't far from here, I can go.. no, Laurence don't go wandering. Don't get back into that habit." I mutter to myself before turning around and walking back. Once I get back I quietly open the front door and walk in.
"Laurence..?" Garroth asks as he yawns. 'Well shit, I've been caught.'
"Heyyy Garroth.. heh.."
"What were you doing?"
"I went for a walk, woke up and needed some fresh air." I half lied right to him.
"Come here, you need some sleep, we went to bed only a little over an hour ago."
"Okay okay" I gently shut the door and lock it before going around the couch to where Garroth was sitting on the floor. He laid down and pat the ground next to him, I sat next to him and he just stared at me. Garroth gently pulls at my arm so that I lay down, I gave in a laid down next to him. I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling, I didn't feel tired. Alone with my thoughts for a few hours, I didn't realize that Garroth fell asleep and that it was now four in the morning. Oops! I sat up, didn't feel like sleeping so I just got up and sat at the dining table scrolling through social media on my phone.

I heard some movement from the living room and Katelyn had woken up and came to sit with me.
"How long have you been up?" She asks
"Heh, not long, maybe half an hour?" I lie right through my teeth, and checked the time 6:47am, pure lies, I've been up since like two but okay.
"Hm okay, you look very tired, you sure you slept as much as you say you have?"
"Uhh, okay I won't lie to you, I've been up since about two.."
"TWO? LAURENCE!" Katelyn whisper yells at me while smacking my wrist.
"Shhh! Don't tell anyone! I'll grab a energy drink or something to make it through the day." I whisper yell back.
"Katelyn? Laurence?" I hear Aaron quietly say,
"How did we not notice you coming down the stairs?" Katelyn asks.
"I've gotten better at being quiet."
"Fair enough" I say.
"What are you guys talking about?" Aaron asks as he joins us at the table.
"How Laurence here has been up since two and refuses to sleep." Katelyn glares at me.
"Heh.." I sigh.
"Okay, I mean, it's your problem not mine." Aaron deadpans.
Aaron, Katelyn and I quietly talk for a few hours, everyone eventually wakes up, Nana and Aph made breakfast and around noon everyone was home. I took a energy drink out of the fridge and sat on the couch, watched some Tv, got a disappointed glare from Garroth because of my drink. The day passed by and then it was late again. I went to bed a bit early to catch up on the sleep I missed.
