Aonung's Pov:

Me and rotxo we're walking to his mom's den for dinner, she made the best food ever.

I spotted tsireya, neteyam and his siblings I really wanted to go say hi but that Otwayu girl was there and plus I was with rotxo.

"Hey aonung are you okay?" Rotxo asked me, I looked at him confused. "Yeah, what do you mean?" I asked him and he pointed down at my limp, I felt my face heat up. "Oh that" I laughed.

"My leg just feels stiffy today" I lied to him, rotxo believed me, nodding as we entered his den. His mother greeted us at the door, a group of wraps we're already set up on her wood tray, she let me and rotxo eat one early.

"These are so good mom!" Rotxo smiled, I nodded in agreement because these we're amazing. "Thank you" I said, taking the last bite.

--time skip.

Aonung's Pov:

Me and rotxo sat on the beach, tossing a shell back and forth to each other, laughing. It felt like we we're little kids again.

Rotxo dropped the shell and I cheered. "I won" I laughed he picked up the shell and tossed it back to me, shaking his head. "Good game" he smiled.

"Rotxo!" We heard a voice cheer, we turned to see kiri excitedly running down the beach, tsireya following her. I could see rotxo's face instantly brighten. "Hey Kiri" he smiled, she ran around to sit beside him. "Tsireya said I'm amazing at riding my ilu!" She laughed, touching rotxo's arm.

I could see his face sadden, and it felt like I could read his thoughts so easily.

"Hey aonung, neteyam wants to talk to you" I heard me sisters voice say tapping my shoulder. I instantly looked around for him and saw him standing at the hill of the beach waiting. "Thanks tsireya" I smiled, getting up, rotxo waved me a goodbye and so did kiri.

I walked to the top of the hill, smiling at him. "Hey neteyam" I said, no one was around to make it a big deal so I pulled him into a hug. I could feel neteyam instantly soften. "Hey aonung" he sighed.

"Can we take a walk?" He asked, his voice seemed stressed I nodded to him, he looked stressed and tired. "Sure" I smiled, he grabbed onto my hand leading me away from the camp. My face felt really warm.

When we got far enough away neteyam finally spoke. "Are you scared of us aonung?" He blurted out, I looked at him surprised. "What do you mean?" I asked him, he lowered his head sadly. "Are you scared of us being together?" Neteyam asked again. My heart sunk again.

"Neteyam of course not!" I told him, he shook his head. "It's okay if you are" neteyam told me. "I know your not ready for people to know"

I felt my heart break. "Neteyam i-"

"I don't know if we should be together just yet" neteyam sighed, i could see his tears falling. "I mean it's hard running around secretly" he explained, I could only just stare at him. This conversation hurts.

"And I think I'll hurt you" neteyam said, wiping his tears. "Because I'm not ready to accept it either"

"Neteyam Im sorry I do want to be together!" I frowned, trying not to cry.

"Don't be sorry" neteyam told me, looking away.

"I'll change!" I told him.

"No aonung! Don't, just- let's give this time" neteyam sighed.

Why does this feel like he's leaving me alone.
