AALIYAH'S POV
It's finally Monday and I have to go back to school.
Most people hate it but it gives me time to relax from work. Oh and I get to see him again. Usually he spends the night at my place but he didn't yesterday.
He said he got something to do and I looked at him. I was sad not gonna lie because we just got finished doing our business and he left.
I powered through it tho.
I throw on my outfit putting my socks on. I grab the white Air Forces and tied them. I grabbed my bag sitting in the corner making sure my MacBook was in there and some books.
I went to the kitchen grabbing a water before walking out of my apartment. As I'm walking to my car I get a text from him.

I'm sorry about last night something came up.
I left him on read.

Don't be like that mama.
Read again.

Wait til we get in this school.
Read once again.
I wasn't that mad I just wanted to be petty. Plus him leaving right after sex makes it seem like he didn't wanna do anything with me right after.
I drive to school stopping by McDonald's to get me a chicken biscuit and hash brown with a apple juice.
Of course me being the nice person I got him something because I know he'll try to eat my food. I park grabbing my bag , food , and drink getting out closing the door with my hip.
I see him not too far away and I start walking towards him. I take my food out and give him his while sitting at one of the outside tables.
I sat there grabbing a ketchup packet and putting it on my hash brown saying my grace before eating.
"So you just gon ignore me." I hear him say.
I don't respond taking another bite of my hash brown. "Aaliyah." He said my real name.
I turned to him seeing him look at me already. "I told you I'm sorry something had came up." He said and I made a face.
"Okay." I said turning back to my food.
"Actually no." I turn back to him.
"So it was so important you had to leave me right after we had sex to do something?" I ask.
"No seas asi." He said and I scoffed.
(Don't be like that.)
"Don't be like that my ass, you know what? Forget it." I said picking up my stuff.
His hand grabbed my arm and I glared at him. "Lemme make it up to you." He said.
"I'm fine. Just let me go." I shrug him off throwing my stuff away.
He left me alone leaving me in my thoughts.
Is this really what I want?
I walked over to one of the tables on the insides grabbing a book from the library. I sit down reading a few pages before a chair was scraped.
I look to see one of my friends and I give her a small smile she quickly returns before getting to the point.
"So when was you gonna tell me you and Luis back together?" She asked and I sighed.
"Does it matter?" I ask turning the book page.
"Aaliyah! Wake up and get over the fact he's toxic!" She whisper yelled.
"He's not toxic." I lied straight through my teeth.
"Me and you both know the answer to that. He literally does shit on purpose to make you jealous. He doesn't give one fuck about your feelings, All he needs is a woman to play with while he got another one on his dick." She spoke.
I felt the urge to say something back but I knew she was just speaking the truth.
"All he does is play with you. He keeps making you think that he loves you. You went from being the innocent girl to this woman who doesn't know her man is toxic." She said and I scoffed.
"I wasn't some innocent girl. I've been a stripper since I was 18 and you call that innocent? This is my life if I choose toxic men then what happens in the relationship is on me. What your not gonna do is tell me what he is and what he's not." I snap and she stares at me.
"If I keep running back to him and getting hurt that's on me. What happens between me and him stay between me and him. I'm a grown ass woman who pays her bills , still in school , owns a car , and got a job. Thank you for telling me about him but whatever happens is on me." I finish.
"I don't mean to be the bitch here but I had to clear that up." I say sighing.
"But why him though?" She asks her eyes widening.
"What-"
I felt a hand wrap around my throat gripping it and my eyes widen. "She picked me because ain't nobody else gon treat her like I do." He said.
