"hey, joão?" i shouted hoping he could hear me two rooms away. "yeah?" he replied. "um can you pass me the towel and robe from my room?" i felt my face getting red. "oh- yeah sure." i heard his footsteps walking in the hall trying to find my room and the squeak of the room door. he found it and came back pushing only his hand in the door to give me the stuff.

i got the towel and robe for her and walked over to the bathroom door where i stuck my arm in to give it to her. since my head was facing straight i could see through the crack in the door. i faintly saw the outline of her body in the foggy mirror reflection. i quickly turned my head away and started to walk back to the living room. "thank you!" she said. thank god she didn't see me, if she did she would probably think i was a perv or something.

"alright i'm done getting ready." i said as i walked into my living room where he's been waiting for almost an hour. "finally." he sighed and got up of the couch almost losing his balance due to how long he's been sitting. "it didn't even take that long you're being extra." i side-eyed him. "no you've been in there for 15 years." he rolled his eyes jokingly.
we left my house and got in his car and started to take a noticeably different route than yesterday.
"so where are we going for lunch?" i asked bouncing my leg. "it's a nice cafe near the beach." he kept his eyes on the road. "oh my god we could've went swimming if you told me to pack a bathing suit!" i hit his arm lightly.
"we don't need bathing suits.." he muttered so quietly i almost didn't catch it. "hm? what was that?" i played dumb. "nothing." he smiled innocently.
the rest of the car ride was filled with a comfortable silence while i was scrolling on instagram.
when we reached the cafe he opened my car door for me and we went to the counter to order. the cafe wasn't too crowded other than the 4 other people in the cafe. we both ordered lattes and went to go sit down. as we were walking to find a table i looked around and saw someone in the corner of my eye staring at me and joão.
"hey don't look right now but that girl over there is staring at us." i said trying to look the other way from her. as soon as i said that joão looked the girl straight in the eye and held eye contact until she looked away first. "i just said don't look!" i whisper-shouted.
when we got our lattes we both took some pictures of each other and scrolled on our social media.
