Luna ran up to me, a smile on her face, "Mommy, tan we do to da pak now?"
I sighed and smiled with a nod. She ran over to Jasper excitedly and told him. Immediately, the two were jumping with joy.
I took them down the hall to their room and helped them get changed. I put Luna in a white unicorn t-shirt and pink pants. For Jasper, I put on a black t-shirt with the words "momma's boy" on it and navy-blue jeans. I walked into my room and changed into a black tank top and blue jeans.
I paused in front of the body-length mirror that sat in my room beside the door. I didn't look like the average 17-year-old girl. My breasts were bigger than any of my friends and it made me insecure, despite my hourglass figure. Now, I'm not skinny by any means. Ever since I found out I was pregnant, my body seemed to double in size. I seemed to look a lot more like Rebel Wilson's slim figure. I sighed and left my room.
Luna and Jasper began jumping excitedly up and down when I walked into the living room.
"Ready?", I smile and they both nod excitedly as I grab a backpack full of essentials.
We walked out of the house, and I made sure to lock the front door before grabbing both my toddler's small hands. Jasper walked on my right while Luna was on my left. I made sure to grip their hands tightly to ensure that they didn't run off until we got to the park.
I took a right once I got to the end of my driveway and began walking. Luna started skipping halfway through the walk and started singing. I couldn't help but smile when both of them started singing the opening song to Ruby & Max. It didn't take very long to get to the park. As soon as it came into view, both Jasper and Luna ran. Immediately, I was thankful we didn't need to cross the street.
"Play nice you two!", I called as I walked over to a bench.
I sat down and pulled my journal from the backpack along with a pen. I quickly began jotting down a few sentences. I looked up and smiled when I saw Jasper and Luna playing on the slide.
"Which one's yours?"
I turned and nearly jumped. I rested a hand over my heart, trying to calm it down as I gave a fake smile to the woman.
"The twins on the slide.", I answer, quickly shoving my journal back into the backpack, "Where's yours?"
"Oh, I don't have any.", she stated quickly, her short black hair moving softly with the wind, "I just come to admire them."
Her answer gave me a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I watched her from the corner of my eyes as she pierced her lips, her violet-colored lipstick not smudging in the slightest. I couldn't help but stare at her purple contacts. Why would anyone wear anything that would make them stand out if they intend to kidnap a child? I followed her gaze and my worry increased. She was watching them. She was watching my kids.
"What did you say your name was?", I asked, tearing her gaze from my children in an effort to protect them.
"Oh, I'm Ann but everyone calls me Airachnid. It's a nickname that stuck with me ever since I was that young.", the woman answered with a smirk, "Your children seemed to have vanished."
My eyes widened and I tore my gaze from her to look for my young children, who had indeed left the slides. I looked around with worry of Ann's possible partner kidnapping them before spotting them standing next to a very familiar man. Instincts took over and I immediately got up, grabbing my bag with me. I walked over to them briskly. Once they were within arm's reach, I roughly grabbed their arms and dragged them to my sides as I glared at the man.
"You're hurting them.", he stated with a glare of his own as I felt small fingers trying to pry my hands off.
Does he not recognize me? He completely ruins my life and then just forgets while I live in fear of coming across him again? He lives a happy life while I try not to scream whenever I pass by a man?
