We finished decorating and all I wanted was for Chad to get out of the house, but he insisted on staying the night because "he didn't want me to be lonely" as he put it.
For the whole night, Chad was kind of just...there. He took up almost all of the bed and didn't even turn my way.
Morning came, and Chad was already gone from the bed when I awoke. Willow took his spot, and I pat her gently as I crawled my way out from beneath the covers. I padded my way down the stairs and spotted Chad.
I thought he would've at least made breakfast like a good boyfriend would do, but no, he was sitting on the couch scrolling through his phone.
"Chad?" my voice resounded through the empty house.
"Yeah. Um. I was waiting for you to be up." he widens his eyes but keeps staring at his phone.
"Why?" I felt neglected.
"Oh, well my friends wanted to go somewhere and said you could come along again."
"But...skip school? Is it really worth it?"
"Yeah, it's only one day. You've done it before. And besides, it's not like you care that much."
"Who ever said I didn't care about school?-"
He pauses and looks me dead in the eye.
"Let's go."
