*8 year's later*

I stare at the photo of us at that Christmas party and smile

Then I feel his arms wrap around me

"What are you staring at baby?"

"Younger us" I reply with a smile

"We were hot" he says nipping at my ear

"Still are"

He kisses me and and pull away

"We have to take them skating we promised"

Grayson sighs as he turns around and looks at our kids

Who are staring at us with big doe eyes

"Come on kiddos get your jacket and boots we're seeing Auntie Milly and Uncle Marcus"

If you're wondering what happened in those 8 years I'll tell you it was like something out of a fairytale

Grayson did in fact keep his promise
We haven't broken each other's hearts

We moved in together after school was done and I became a writer

He did in fact get drafted in Boston and now plays there

So yeah my Grayson is kind of famous

He proposed to me two years after

Then we had two children

What a crazy life since that time
where I didn't think I could trust him

Well I knew I could but hockey players were on my no list

Now I'm married to one
And Now look at us as we're zipping up our kids coats

We had one girl and a boy

Crystal wilder and Nicholas wilder

Grayson's mom survived through her sickness and I couldn't be happier that she got to meet her grandkids and got to come to our wedding.

Me and my dad have since been in contact and we chat on the phone occasionally but we could never truly build a relationship.

"Mama I'm scared to skate Nicholas" says nervous we were driving to the arena now

"Don't worry baby I'll hold your hand the entire time"

"Daddy is a hockey player he'll teach you everything you need to know"

Grayson looks at me with a small smile and nothing but love in his eyes

This life we've built all because of a silly Christmas favor

If you told me 8 year's ago that I would be married to Grayson wilder and had kids with him

I would have laughed in your face
But now I look up at the sky and smile at my mom

And silently thank her for the path she helped guide me on

We pulled up to the arena and I gave Grayson a quick kiss before pulling Nicholas out of the car

And crystal held tightly to Grayson

Milly greeted us and since I was just on a trip through memory lane it always stuns me to see the beautiful girl she became

I mean I practically raised her and Marcus

Who also it seems became a man over night

He was still quiet though just like my Marcus

Grayson hugged Marcus and Milly tightly even them it seems has a special bond

"Hey gray gray good to see you" Milly greets him screwing with his hair

When we get on the ice and I glide easily I'm hit with an overwhelming sense of deja vu when me and Grayson had taken Milly and Marcus

Grayson skated over to me and kissed my forehead

"What are you thinking about baby?"

"Us" I say with smile

"Good things?" he asks with wary eyes

"Great things" I kiss him and he whispers and I love you

We skate to the kids who are trying to maintain balance

Nicholas skates a little out of control and dives straight for my legs

I fall on the ice with Nicholas being quickly picked up by Grayson

They all laugh

I giggle to myself and Grayson sweeps me off my feet and kissses me

Nicholas says "yuck" and crystal mimics him and sticks her tongue out

I smile at them feeling a sense of nostalgia

At the time that Christmas and having a boyfriend felt like the most pressing issue

And now I'm glad that it was because now the most pressing issue

Is my kids and my Grayson
All of this because of a Christmas favor
