(Skyler's POV)
I have just arrived at the parade square in my new school. Ever since I left my old school, I was over the moon. My old school has been a hellhole, that 3 fuckers called me names, pulled my hair, and more stuff. Everyone pretend they didn't see it. I was always left alone in class. But now that I moved to a new school, I hoped my school life would be better.
A teacher led me to my new class at the parade square, I hope my new class are not like the idiots at my old school. When I sat on the floor of the parade square, I was nervous. I noticed that people are looking at me.
"Hiii" I heard a voice behind me. I turned around and saw a girl waving to me. I looked at her name tag and saw that her name is Alia.
"Hello.." I replied
"Are you new here??"
"Yeah.."
"Well then.. wanna be friends?" She said cheerfully. I was happy. Happy that someone wanted to be friends with me. So of course I accepted it.

A few months had passed by since then. School has been great, I've made a lot of friends. None of them are bullies or mean people. But what has been bothering me the most is the fact idiot A, Nicole, and idiot B, Kelis, has been shipping me with Naura despite me telling them that I don't like her. Besides Naura doesn't like me anyways. But that's not the main thing that's bothering me. What bothers me is the facial expression Alia made when Nicole and Kelis mention that annoying thing.

Finally. It's the day. The last day of 2022. But that's not the only thing special about today. This will also be the day I will be confessing my love to Alia. Yes I have a crush on her, since the day we first met. But I'm scared. Scared that it'll be awkward if she rejected me. Scared that she won't be my friend after that. But Pranav reassured me that it'll be fine. Now it's 11.50 pm, ten minutes to a new year. I'm gonna do it. I will. So I wrote a whole ass paragraph for her. And just sent it. Now I'm nervous, overthinking.
Did I made the correct choice?
Startled as I saw Alia online. Looks like she's typing something. Looks like she stopped and went offline. Is this how our friendship ended? I couldn't go to sleep due to overthinking. Finally I slept because I cried myself to sleep.

Few days had passed, and today is the first day of school. Like always, I dreaded going to school but I'm forced to by my mom anyways. I want to see her but I don't think I should show myself in front of her. As I reached the second floor, I saw Alia. I quickly attempted to run up the stairs but something stopped me by grabbing my hand. Turn out it was Alia, suddenly she pulled me closer to her and hugged me. I was shocked and confused at the same time.
"I..like you..too...." Those were the words that came out from her mouth.
"I didn't reply back because my phone fell into a river." She muttered as we both chuckled. I was happy. Over the moon. All of a sudden, we heard giggling behind us. Turns out that Shravya, Shannon and Raphael were watching the whole thing. I glared daggers at them and they backed away.
