Under her umbrella

There was this creepy girl at Sana's school called Hannah. She attended the school only when it rained. A few of their classmates have recorded it since second grade. It's been seven years so, why wouldn't they notice? Whenever it rained, there'd always be someone with a missing umbrella and had to go with her. And then, they'd just disappear. No records of them will be found, ever again. Everyone would just...forget about them.

Then one day, it was Sana's turn. It was raining that day, and Sana perfectly remembered that she got her parasol to school. But to her surprise, it was nowhere to be found. She looked in her bag, her shelf, and the classroom but the parasol just...disappeared. Hannah came to Sana and said, 'Are you looking for your parasol? I'm sure you must have left it at home. Why not use mine for today?'

The moment Sana was under her umbrella, everything just disappeared and she was in a completely different place. She was walking barefoot on the clouds. It felt so soft. Softer than a baby. Softer than a marshmallow. The air was so much purer, she could almost taste it. Cute little huts were all lined up. She could hear the most beautiful harp music. There were plants much fresher than those she saw her entire life. It felt like literal heaven. Then a girl came to Sana. She had the most beautiful gray eyes. Her waist-length hair was decorated with pretty flowers. She was wearing a knee-length teal frock. She smiled at Sana. Sana smiled back. However, the longer Sana stared at her, the more familiar she seemed.

Then, she started speaking. 'Sana! I've never met you in person but I've seen you a lot!! You're such a lovely one. Ugh! Why did Norma do this??? Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Hannah. I know it's confusing, but I'll explain everything.' 'What place is this, and didn't we meet before?' Sana asked Hannah. 'I'll tell you everything on our way home. Everyone's having lunch at the canteen. I'm done so, time to go home. I look at everything Norma does. Sana, I'm gonna tell you something unbelievable. You. Are. In. The. Afterworld.' 'What in the world?!' said Sana, freaking out. 'Don't panic. We just gotta save the world. You might wonder why I keep saying Norma instead of Hannah,' said Hannah looking blue.

'When I was in first grade, I was in the park, playing with my friends. While making sandcastles, I saw a cute little capsule that changed everything. It was so cute, I took it home. What I didn't know was that it was a trap created by a demon.

It was alright for a few weeks. But then, I started to hear whispers and footsteps. My parents did not believe it. My things started to disappear. I started to experience sleep paralysis. The day came and Norma possessed me. Though it possessed me, I was conscious and wanted to escape from my body. I remembered a movie where a girl got her soul outta her body. I know that sounds stupid, but I tried and got rid of the demon's possession and got here.

Without a human soul, my body started to rot and the vessel wasn't good enough for Norma. It wanted to escape, but it just couldn't. It was a miracle how all of this happened. After hundreds of rituals, the answer came. It had to kill at least 500 people to escape. And the umbrella was its tool.'

'Oh, God, that's horrible!' said Sana, looking creeped out. 'Is there a way we can defeat it?' 'I've tried all the possible ways. I've been here for seven years but still haven't found anything. Maybe you can,' she continued, 'This demon has powers to wipe out your records. So my parents don't know they had a daughter.' She burst out into tears. 'Hey, don't worry. Mine forgot about me too, but it's okay. We have each other.' Sana said, trying to comfort her. 'You're the best!' she replied, wiping her tears. Sana asked Hannah if there was a library to which Hannah said yes. 'And that's my home!' said Hannah pointing out to a small dusty-looking home.'Since we're not humans anymore, we live in these small cottages. Another good news. We don't need to shower anymore!'

When Sana stepped into Hannah's cottage, she saw a bed and a side table with a lamp on it. There was a small window between the bed and a cupboard. That was it. It was already late so they changed into their pj's and slept. Sana who usually wakes up at six on the Earth woke up at half-past four here. Sana and Hannah got out of bed, changed out of their pj's, and left to have breakfast.
