Past
"Jake!" I scream, searching for a tuft of his soft brown hair or a glimpse of his tall body. It was after school and I was waiting for him to walk home with me, like we did every day."Abby, Abby! I'm sorry, Mrs. Debler wanted to talk to me after class." I frowned at him, "Jacob Evan Anderson! What did you do?" He grins sheepishly at me, "I may have put glue in Johnny's hair." I shake my head at him, " Why would you do that?" "He called you 'ugly', he deserved it. Plus, I figured that he was blind anyway and wouldn't mind it." We both laughed, interlocking our hands and heading home.
Present
"Abbyyyyy!!! Get up lazy-bones!" I groan, burying my head further into the pillow. Why does my mom not understand that I need my sleep? I never get any sleep on the weekdays, so I need the weekends to recharge. "You've got till the count of 10 to get up, or I'm coming after you with my spatula!"What the actual hell. "Language, young lady!" Did i say that out loud. I slam my head back into the pillow and yell, "Why do I have to get up!?!"
"We're picking up that Anderson boy from the airport! Now get the hell out of that bed!" So much for language. I drag myself out of bed and into the bathroom. Brushing my teeth, I study my face in the mirror. My dark brown eyes and long black hair stare back at me. My nose is averaged sized but my lips are pouty and full. I consider my lips and my eyes to be my best features. To be very honest, I'm short, tiny if you will. Only 5 feet tall, and proud of it! Yes, I can't reach the top shelf and no, I will not hesitate to tell someone to get something for me. If you're done admiring yourself-er- ourself, can you get changes now? Jeez, Sky. What? My inner voice has a name, deal with it.
After slipping on an old pair of high-waisted denim shorts, a crop top and my favorite pair if Converse, I head downstairs. Suddenly, I smell it. The buttery, scrumptious smell, that can only mean one thing-PANCAKES!
