Preface

"He's here!" Lily shouted. Lily and James Potter along with their eldest daughter Alice all panicked as they felt all the protection charms breaking. Meanwhile a one year old Harry Potter lied in his mothers arms oblivious to everything that was happening around him.

"Lily, Alice! Take Harry and go upstairs!" James shouted frantically. Alice took her mothers hand while they srinted up the stairs and into the Nursery. James Potter stood in front of the stairs, protecting his wife and kids. Voldermort appeared in front of him. James suddenly noticed that he didn't  have his wand. He looked around for it frantically and then finally saw it on the couch. He dashed for it but was too slow as Lord Voldermort pointed his wand at him.

"Foolish boy. AVADA KEDAVRE!" Those were the two words that took the life life of beloved father, son, friend and husband, James Potter. Green light shout out of Voledmort's wand and struck James Potter as he leaped for his wand. His body fell to the ground as Voldermort had already got to the door of the nursery.

Lily and Alice Potter worked together toput up a protection charm around Harry's crib. Although Alice Potter was only 11 and was only just about to start her first year at Hogwarts she was very smart for her age because she showed signs of magic at the age of just three so her parents taught her lots of spells incase of situations like this. This helped her to work together with her mum to put up protection charms around her baby brother.

Suddenly the door was forced open and in front of them stood Lord Vordermort. Lily stood slightly in front of Alice, protecting not only Harry but Alice as well.

"Step out of the way girl. There's no need for you to die as well." He told Lily. She however would not listen.

"No! Not Harry!" She shouted. He growled in fury, angry that she refused to let him kill her son.

"AVADA KEDAVRE!" Voldermort roared, pointing his wand at her chest. A green light struck her and she fell to the floor.

"NOOO!" Alice Potter had shouted and tried to jump infront of her mother but it was too late. The light had struck Lily Potter. As the light drained from her eyes her daughter's bright, emerald, green eyes filled with tears. She knelt down and buried her face in her dead mother.

Voldermort laughed evily and pointed his wand at Harry while Alice was distracted crying over her mothers body but as he said the words that should of ended the life of Harry Potter something amazing happened.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" But when it shot out of his wand and towards Harry as Alice tried to stop it, instead of hitting him it rebounded off his forhead leaving a lightningbolt scar behind. It him Voldermort right in the chest in in a poof he vanished.

Alice stared in shock at Harry. What had happened? Relisation crossed her mind and she relised that it was there mothers love that saved Harry. Her mum had sacrificed herselt in order to save Harry and that was the strongest kind of magic of all, love!

Alice took Harry from his crib. He had started crying and she knew that deep down he understood what happened. She cradled him in her arms while tears flowed down her eyes She walked downstairs, dreading what she would find but hoping that maybe he had survived. But deep down she knew what she would find and that she wouldn't like it. As she saw her father body laying infront of the couch fresh tears flowed down her eyes. She sat down next to his body, crying her eyes out with Harry sleeping in her arms.

Minutes later but what felt like hours she heard a noise and turned to the door to see a teary Hagrid running towards her. He looked at her father's and mothers's (who she had brang downstairs) bodies in pain. He looked at her for comfromation as to what he thought had happened, actually happened.

"Voldermort." She nodded, too sad to skeak. Suddenly harry's godfather Sirius Black came sprinting into the room. As he saw his best friends bodies lying dead tears flowed down his face. He saw Alice, her eyes were red from crying and she was a mess. He held his arms out for her and she ran into them gratefully.

That day was the worst day of Alice Potter's life and the day that changed her forever!
