Chapter 3: Untitled

Hi Guys!, Author here, I Just wanted to give you all a little info before we dive into this world so that it does not get complicated in the future and you all can beat me in the comments if it violates any of what I say here !!

Setting :

This story will take you for a dive into the future, present, and past. Now, what do I mean by the present, past, and future?

The present is the year 3730, where Kalkin is currently 21 years old

The past is technically anywhere before the year 3730.

The future is technically anywhere after the year 3730 and probably as the story progresses we will also have a change of years, but you don't need to worry about all this now!

Now, what exactly is this world, right?

I think you all are already aware that it's a world involving dungeons and all that mystical and fantasy adventure elements. I am not gonna go into detail about the dungeons because they are a core element and you know one of the surprises that you'll learn throughout the journey right?

But I'll talk about this world in general.

It's normal like everyday earth but instead of countries, it's made of empires, and instead of just humans inhabiting the world, it involves a lot of creatures both sentient and insentient. Well, we often think like how will the future be like with lots of technological advancements and all that but we also think that there is a possibility that instead of progression if the earth falls to a regressive state. We may or may not deal with all that in the course of the story.

Now that all this is clear, let's talk about the concept of magic and lifeforce/mana !!

In simpler terms when one uses energy around him as a form of weapon we call it magic and the concentrated energy is magical energy.

One that spends his own internal energy or lifeforce he is using his own mana!
So, everyone is born with a certain level of mana and they can replenish or use that mana through mana-controlling techniques. However, to increase one's mana reserves is not known in this world. Thus, people with plenty of mana reserves are very less and easily promoted to Captain Class by these dungeon corporations/companies. However, everyone is born with mana/lifeforce and can learn to utilize that lifeforce but the less you have the less you can waste while learning mana techniques and certain techniques will take a toll on your body and one may not be able to use them at all due to certain 'quantity' of mana required. Well as people eat food, they gain energy and are able to convert that energy to replenish the mana they lost but that doesn't mean that eating all the time even if your mana reserves are full will increase their capacity. So in short having large mana reserves is good but having less and still being able to judiciously use it may show your expertise at Mana control. Thus, Mana control will be displayed as a power/technique in a person's status information unless you are a mage/magician, you may never have any Magical energy displayed on your status information display.

Coming back to Magical energy: As said earlier it's the energy you use around you. It is calculated as Magical Points which means how much one can hold the outside energy or can concentrate outside energy to create things. So now the question is if you are a mage and use someone's inner magical energy then are you using someone's mana or surrounding energy?

As I said, it's all energy and doesn't disobey the rule of Mana and Magic.

Magic is typically easier to learn other than the fact that your body may ache after a long duration of practice but unlike mana which can cause you fatigue or death after completely emptying one's mana reserves since it surrounds you, you are never void of it.
But that also doesn't mean that there are not any severe cases due to magic, learning to control magic requires lots of concentration and there are cases where people become mentally incapable of handling it, so you know it's not an easy job that anyone can be a mana user or mage but there are still far more people who become mage than mana users.
