Prologue
A prophecy foretold a girl born with the blessing of the moon would face great despair. Destined to be alone forever. Yet she would bring the sun and stars together again. The fates decreed this two years ago. The year I was born, I had a moon on the center of my forehead. Because of this, my family and I had been outcasted and shunned. Due to me having the blessing of the moon my parents named me Luna. If you're reading this, it means that I brought the sun and stars together with me. Things are sure to heat up so, stick around.

Chapter 1: Beautiful Moonlight

You'd never believe me if I said that my life sucked, and yes, while that may be true, my love life sucked until I was 18. "But why?" I asked the guy. He laughed as if to belittle me even further. "Simply put Luna you're a freak and you should've never been born." Those words hit me like a freight train, and my heart shattered. I silently left the house and started to make my way home. It was a full moon tonight, a sign that the moon goddess was watching me with her full attention. Draconia Lunaria, The Dragon Moon Goddess. During ancient times she appeared often as a dragon who controlled the tides and seas. She was feared by most and respected by the strongest. Yet now everyone dislikes her because of a myth that surfaced two years ago. But that's not important now. As I stepped inside the door of my house I was greeted by my roommates and the only two people I could call friends, Solaria and Aurora. Solaria was born a sun child and Aurora was born a space child. Yet instead of shunning us like the rest of society, Solaria and Aurora's parents respected us and treated us as if we were normal people. It was nice to have them live with me. "Hey guys..." I tried to hold back my tears as I stood in front of them. However, it's as if instinctively they knew what happened. "Come here Luna it's gonna be okay," Solaria said while scooting over on the couch to let me sit down. Aurora smiled at me and patted the space to further the point that I should sit down. As I sat down I buried my face in my hands and cried. I recalled my earlier relationships, Was it my fault? Am I a freak? Do I Deserve to be Loved? I could only sob louder as the sadness of everything that has happened to me washed over me. "I'm done," I said as if wept in the comfort of my friend's arms. "I'm going to go on a walk to clear my head." I got up and somberly walked out the door of my apartment. After a few minutes of walking, I stepped inside Lunaria's, my Mothers' shrine. Yep, that's right, the Dragon moon goddess is my mother. I sat down on the bench in front of my mother's shrine and silently prayed for her presence. There was a slight breeze of wind then a soft motherly voice, "Hello my child, what's the matter dear?" I tried to stay calm and breathe yet, in the presence of my mother, I just broke. "It happened again, they left again! Why can't I be loved mom?! Why?!" My mom smiled softly and stood up, "Follow me, my child." I followed her outside to her shrine's garden. As we sat in the garden she looked at me lovingly with a sadness only a mother could have. "I'm sorry I'm not able to be there with you dear I do truly wish I could be on Earth longer." She sighed heavily as she stared back at the moon in the purple-blue iridescent sky. "It's not your fault you know," I said as I laid my head on her shoulder. "You had no choice, the earth would've been submerged in water if you didn't mom." She chuckled softly as she processed what I said. "I suppose your right dear, you know your father stopped by yesterday." intrigued I asked, "Did he? What did you guys talk about?" She chuckled softly, "He said he misses me, and he found a way for me to stay on earth without drowning it." Shocked I sat up and faced my mother. "How? I'll help." She laughed at my eagerness to help. "Well, it relies entirely on you and your roommates my dear." Being confused I said, "Me and my roommates?" She smiled at me again and spoke softly, "Do you remember the prophecy, my dear?" I nodded and began to recite it from memory, "A child of the Moon, Sun, and Space must be brought together again in body, soul, and spirit." My mother smiled as she began to fade. "Well my dear, until tomorrow night. I brought you, the sun, and space together in the body but my dear you must do the rest." I smiled as the realization finally hit me. "Thank you, mom. And thank you for the always beautiful moonlight." she smiled and faded completely and I started my journey for I now knew what I had to do, I had to fall in love with my roommates.
