"Beleive."
The booming voice spoke.
.
.
.

"Who are you?"
"Thats a question most ask."
"But where are you from?"
"That's another one.
People only come to ask, never to listen."
"...May I listen?"
The booming voice halted,
For a just a moment,
It seemed curious.
"I don't have a name,"
It started, and the earth rose with every breath it took.
"I've been around for centuries,
My beasts killed,
And my trees taken."
It spoke as if it had practiced these words.
"But one thing I've wished to tell about,"
The earth shook as two enormous human hands erupted from the dirt.
"Is the gift I was given."

The hands grasped together,
and inside of them,
A crackling fire started.
"What does it do?"
"Watch, child."
From that fire,
Sparked small embers.
Those embers soared to the sky,
And as I looked for hours and hours.
I saw them take their place in the stars.
They glistened and sparkled,
like a newborn babe just born.
And after all those hours,
The voice spoke once again.

"My gift is life,
I give to the universe and the things around it."
The voice seemed to chuckle,
And waves crashed against the shore.
"Give in place of me child."
Inside of those hands,
The fire gave out,
Those hands steamed
and pulled away from the earth.
And all that was left,
Was the smallest lick of flame.
All I knew to do,
Was to wrap my hands around that flame,
And hope to see it grow.
