Taming Summer
"Summer, will you promise me one thing?" Nag-angat naman ng tingin ang batang si Summer sa kalarong si Noe. She has a smile plastered on her lips as she nodded.
"Please promise me that you'll visit me here once we're old enough. Promise me that we'll get married! You are the best husband I can picture of, as of now." Mahina namang natawa si Summer sa narinig. Her friend really did think of her as the groom instead of the bride after they once played marriage with their other friend, Wyatt. Tumango naman siya at hinawakan ang kamay ng kaibigan.
"I swear to fulfill my promise to you, Isonoe." Malapad ang ngiti nilang dalawa habang nakaupo sa lilim ng puno. Matapos kasi silang pagalitan ng mga pamilya nila, agad silang tumakas at dumiretso sa paborito nilang lugar.
Minsan nila itong natagpuan noong unang punta pa lamang ni Summer sa lugar na ito. She came here when she turned four, and now that she's eight, she has to move out again, together with all of her family members. The friendship that they built was witnessed by this very place. Masyadong mahalaga ito para sa kanilang dalawa, kaya bago ang pag-alis ni Summer, naisipan nilang bisitahin muna ito.
"Let's carve our hands on the tree!" Suhestiyon ni Isonoe sa batang babae at agad naman itong sumang-ayon at gayon nga ay ginawa nila ang sinabi ni bata.
"You promised me, ah? Once you come back, bibigyan kita ng maraming strawberries!" Summer only chuckled with what the Young Isonoe has said. Hindi naman siya mahilig sa strawberries, sadyang ang kaibigan ay mapilit kaya tinikman niya ito at nagtuloy-tuloy na ang pagkain niya nito. She only wanted to see Isonoe smiling.
"Alright. I will come back as promised." She said and decided to rest her body on the ground. Nakigaya na rin si Isonoe habang tumatawa.

"Promise, nakalimutan ko lang talaga. Wait lang bakla, tinatawag ako ni Pudra." Maarte akong bumuntong-hininga at hinayaan na ang kaibigan kong si Rain.
It's not his fault but he promised me. Hindi naman ako galit, rather, I'm upset. Iyon siguro ang nararamdaman ko ngayon.
Tiningnan ko ang patong-patong na order na kailangan kong i-deliver sa buong Isla. Kung bakit kasi pinagday-off ko ang mga employees ko, kargo ko tuloy lahat ngayon. Pero hindi ko naman alam na marami pala ang customers ngayong araw.
I called someone to do the work for me. There are five of them and I tasked them to deliver the orders for me. Hindi ko na keribels mga bakla!
"Wait here, Summer. May bibilhin lang ako." Agad akong lumingon nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses na iyon. Parang narinig ko na iyon dati eh!
