I walk over to one of the empty tables in the cafeteria and take a seat. I scroll on my phone sipping on some random juice box I found in one of the vending machines around the campus. Tastes pretty good for our college I'd say. "Hwang Hae Jin!" I heard someone shout and so I looked up in the direction of the sound. I see Lee Young Hoon, my homie. He runs up to me and hugs me hard, making me spill the juice on my hands.
"Hoon, why'd you do that bro?" I ask groaning and cleaning myself up. "So now juice is more important than me? I see how it is. I'll just go hang out with Dylan Park then." He threatens. "Please do. I'll finally have some peace then" I say causing him to let out a fake, dramatic gasp which is then replaced by a smile "I'll steal Hyun Joo" he says. "You can try. She's out of your league. She wouldn't even look your way.", "I don't know man, why don't we ask her?" he says and waves to someone behind me. I turn my head around and see Hyun Joo approaching me.
"Hey, Hae Jin" She says, "Hi Hyun Joo", "Today 7 pm at my house?" she asks "Sure." I say and she smiles "JooJoo Baby, I'm here too", Young Hoon says and I cringe so hard. "Hoon, if you ever call me that again I will skin you alive." she says her face stern. "Hyun you're no fun come on now. Just one date.", "Maybe I should introduce you to my friend Evelyn. She's into people like you", "What, handsome and cool?" they go back and forth. "More like disgusting and annoying." I interrupt, Hyun Joo giggles and pats my shoulder, "You're unexpectedly funny" she says and walks away.

I was watching Netflix when the doorbell rang. I groan knowing who it is. I kick my feet in the air and get up to open the door. I open the door revealing my classmate and tutor Haejin. He was attractive. No, he was alluring. The way his slightly long hair falls in front of his eyes, his rolled-up sleeves revealing his tattoos, his manly cologne, almost everything about him was addicting, except that he's also my tutor. Studying with him is not fun. He's always so serious, and never jokes around.
He walks inside and goes to my room and I follow behind. He puts his books on my table and I get mine from my shelf. I pull out a chair and sit down. "Open poem fifteen and read it. Once you're done I want you to explain what you understood from it.", he says rolling the sleeves of his black button-up shirt. I open poem 15 and begin reading, he grabs my folder and takes a look at my assignment from yesterday.
I keep glancing at him from minute to minute, he didn't look very happy with my work. He had his eyebrows furrowed which means I'm in trouble. He relaxed his face from time to time, which meant I at least did something accurately. I smile to myself, I must've done better than before. "Pay attention to the poem." he says suddenly, "Sorry, I will." I forgot to mention, he also has great peripheral vision.
A while later, I finish reading and comprehending the poem. "I'm done," I say looking at Haejin. He puts my notebook down and looks at me. "Go ahead," he says, crossing his hands, all his attention on me.
"The School Boy is written by William Blake. In this poem, the poet conveys the message of an unhappy schoolboy while going to school." I pause to take a deep breath and begin again.
"....He compares himself to a bird and says, 'How can the bird that is born for joy, sit in a cage and sin', meaning how can a child made for playing out there with joy, sit in the classroom and read."
I finish, looking at him waiting for an answer he thinks for a second and tilts his head to the side. "Good, you did pretty well. Just a few minor changes and it'll be perfect" he says, bringing a smile to my face.
"Now, open your calculus book and practice the problems I marked yesterday, I'm pretty sure you didn't do it yet." He says, making me frown. "Haejin, I'm irresponsible but not as much as you think. I've finished it" I say. "Oh, I'm sorry. Uhm then Physics?", "Done that too. I've finished everything". "Oh okay. Since you've done everything, we're done for today. See you tomorrow," He says, packing his stuff.
"No! You don't have to leave, maybe we can watch a movie?", he lets out a low chuckle and says "Hyunjoo I don't think we know each other that way. Bye Bye," he says. "I know and that's why we should watch the movie. We can get to know each other. I'm pretty sure you'd like that" I say getting a little closer to him. There is a brief pause before he lets out a sigh. "Okay, sure," he says, flashing a small smile, bringing a smile to my face too. "Okay let's go," I say, getting up from my seat and going down to the living room, Haejin following right behind.
"Pick a movie, I'll get us something to eat," I say, going to the kitchen, he nods.

I sit down on the couch and grab the remote. I browse through her recommendations only to find the most salacious movies out there. I chuckle and yell to her "Have you watched Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker?", "Yeah why?", "Have you watched Fifty Shades Freed?" I yell back, "Nope." she says walking with a big bowl full of popcorn and another bowl of other snacks. She puts them down on the table. "One second," she says and runs back to the kitchen.
She comes back with a case of beer cans and carbonated drinks. I chuckle at her again. "What's funny?", "Nothing. Just, isn't that a lot of snacks and beer for one movie?", I ask her. "It's not only for one movie, it's for the rest of the night." I look at her confused.
"It's going to rain laboriously today. Perhaps till tomorrow early morning. I just checked the forecast" she says sitting down on the built-in chaise left to me, and grabbing a beer can. "Oh my, then it's better I leave now" I get up, and right at that moment it thunders and rain starts pouring.
I close my eyes and sit back down. "Play the movie," I say. She chuckles, "One second, let me start the projector, it's better that way." she says and opens her laptop connecting it to the projector. She gets up to turn off the lights. A white screen falls from the ceiling and she presses play on her computer.
And the movie starts. She picks out a straw from the straw cup on the coffee table and puts it in her beer can. They say their vows, 'You may now kiss the bride' says Reverend Walsh and Christian does. The kiss brings a smile to everyone's faces in the movie and Hyunjoo who's now laying on her stomach.
I chuckle at her childish smile and she turns to look at me now sleeping on her side. "Haejin..." she says looking at me, I hum in response taking a sip from my beer too. "What kind of a partner do you want?", "Watch the movie" I smile and say, she rolls her eyes and gets back into her prior position.
About half an hour into the movie, after the parking lot scene, she turns back to me again. "Wanna fuck?" and I choked on my beer, "Oh!" she exclaims and gets up and stands beside me, patting my back. A while later my coughing clams down. She hands me some water and asks, "Are you okay, bro?", "I'm fine", she nods, sits back down, this time beside me and gets to the movie.
We continued watching the movie as if nothing happened but my mind continued to linger around her words 'Wanna fuck?'. The words echoed in my mind over and over again. We kept looking at each other, the air thick with embarrassment and awkwardness. But, actually, I really did wanna fuck her.
